This was one of the best games I’ve ever watched. It’s a real challenge to beat a top 5 all time NBA player playing at his best. Steph Curry scored from every part of the court. He did it off the dribble driving to the rim, off of side steps and step backs for 3s, from some unreal ankle breaking moves off the pivot foot and the dribble stutter step, and from backdoor cuts to the basket. There really is no one in the history of the league who has the combination of an elite handle + elite shot creation + shot execution than Curry. There is no part of the court where you’re safe from him. When defenders are flying at him and he reads their moves and reacts, you never really know whether he’s angling for his own shot or to make a pass to an open teammate. He maintains enough balance to be able to make a play. That’s what makes him one of the 5 best ever to play.

This was a monumental regular season win for the Clippers, but it also showed how we might fare in a tough playoff series. Championship teams tend to have effective players from 3 to 8 who are able to make important contributions at both ends. The contributions from Mann, Gordon, Zu, Plumlee and Russ made the difference in this game. Steph and Klay outscored Kawhi/PG 65-54. It was our role players that made this victory happen.

Minimal turnovers and huge offensive rebounding edge: generated many more possessions. GSW shot the lights out the last three quarters, but the Clips extra possessions more than offset that.

Turnovers & O Rebs … both issues this season that were turned to advantages (although GSW not a great rebounding team). And I have to say Russell was instrumental in both facets. I have not been in the pro-Russell camp, but he was a key cog to this game. Ty used him well.

HELL YEAH!!! Absolutely fantastic team win! Contributions across the board in one way or another, on both ends (bar Morris maybe). Timely buckets EG in the 3rd and 4th were huge. Mann asserting himself on offense in the first half and the 4th. PG’s defense. Westbrook winning a whole bunch of extra possessions (and 0 turnovers).They tried to force Russ into taking more shots than he should, worked to some degree but overall it failed tonight. Zu had a lowkey huge game. Kawhi great. Batum with limited minutes but a lot of big time plays on both ends. Plums solid. Even though Steph arguably had his best game of the season and the Warriors reduced turnovers in the second half, they dearly missed Wiggins, cuts to the basket, his defense and production from the wing.

Massive, massive win! Loved how Ty Lue used the strengths of each player
