It again makes you wonder how the Clips managed to get [Coffey] to agree on the deal that he signed this summer 

I’m probably being a bit naive here, but I’m guessing he agreed to the deal because no other team was offering him *that* much more and moreso that he probably feels some loyalty to the Clips as an organization for sticking with him for so long while he was still developing. I’m not minimizing his efforts – dude obviously worked his ass off to improve over the years – but it’s super obvious some organizations (including the Clippers of old) just don’t value/prioritize development of their young guys.

Any news on Luke? I saw that he had an ankle injury which is why he only played 4 minutes, but hopefully it’s nothing serious.

Regarding Diabate vs Brown: Brown is tall and long, but as of now he doesn’t have the girth to hold up in the post against the burlier PFs/Cs, or the footspeed to effectively switch out on the perimeter, and plus it’s not like he’s a shooter – offensively he’s gonna be limited to dunks and layups. Meanwhile Moose obviously also needs to put on some muscle, but he’s surprisingly spry when he picks up guys on the perimeter – like he’s not Giannis or Bam out there, but dude hustles his ass off and doesn’t immediately turn into a traffic cone whenever he steps out of the paint. Also Moose has a pretty soft hook/push shot in the paint. It wouldn’t be ideal (I’d like it if the Clips picked up Whiteside or maybe even Boogie), but I think I’d be ok if the Clips rolled w/ Diabate for the backup C spot and he just picked up like 5mpg or something.

Also I’m so happy to see Kawhi and PG13 back at it – that moment early on w/ the ridiculous reverse layup by PG13 where he daps up Ballmer after going out of bounds was great.
