The Pelicans started a trend. Blitz Harden, Leonard, and George with 2 or 3 players immediately. The Clippers haven’t adjusted. The Clippers have failed to move the ball quickly. This has thrown off the offense.

What happened to Harden and Zu pick and rolls? Need to get back to it.

Norm should not have played. That head wound needs to heal.

Theis needs to play more. I’m not against Plumlee, but, Theis does add a 3 point threat.

Going back to the Pelican game, everyone is driving to the basket. Way too many layups. Better defensive rotations and better wing defense. Knock everyone who drives to the basket on their ass. We have 18 center fouls. Use them.

The All-Star break couldn’t come fast enough. These guys need a physical and mental break.

Google’s AI turned up a 2020 study that concluded the following: “Following adductor injury, NBA players returned to gameplay after missing an average of 16 to 17 days, or 7 to 8 games. Adductor injury did not affect player performance, nor game availability or career longevity.” And, as already mentioned, if he had to get injured at some point, the timing couldn’t have been better.

Kawhi after loss tonight : Cuz the team has been winning off talent.

Therefore, No adjustments were done on KL’s winning off talent to date.

KL’s consistent tune needs to be resolved.
The coaches need to address this now than later.

Got some likely suspects like Boston—opportunity time BBJr. Make the most of it. Like to see what Jordan Miller could do with some real minutes. James can’t do it by himself but he’s smart enough to get the other guys the ball on target and on time. My fear is that Russ gets extended time…………

His shooting his ?able on two fronts: hesitation and accuracy. As for ballhandling, I don’t think Ty trusts him and I’m with Ty on that. He also has a tendency to drive and then pass way, way out and kill any downhill aggression. Don’t think Coffey has those weaknesses.

I think he’s an excellent ball handler, but he’s been disempowered in this offense to look for his own offense. He’s pure glue for this team, when I think he can and should be empowered to do much more. I see no reason why he can’t be a 14-5-5 guy if featured properly. Not doing so may cost us our shot at a chip.

If it’s a short term injury then the timing might be ok if he can use the all star break to recover. That said, we never know with Kawhi so I’m not going to speculate further.

It does give an opportunity for both Mann and Coffey to get more touches and for more ball movement. It’s clear to me that we have the pieces to win the chip (if healthy) but we have to play a certain way with better attention to detail and to an actual game plan. Ball movement to generate shots for our very talented role players is key to that, as is keeping a big on the court. You can’t play small against teams who are patient enough and more than happy enough to exploit the size disadvantage. Minnesota, Denver, Pelicans, Lakers are all capable of doing that. You’re not getting to the finals without beating 2 of those 4 so you might as well play every game to prepare for those match ups.
