He def doesn’t have the height, but he looks like he could at least hold his own in the post (…or am I just overestimating his girth?). But regardless of what official position he’s playing, I just meant he shouldn’t ever really be on the perimeter on offense – he’s entirely useless outside of the paint unless he’s setting a screen for someone.

He is not nearly big enough to play a small-ball center role – like, he’s significantly smaller than Nic and Marcus, who are already undersized.

He’s a power forward, but he needs to play with a big man who can stretch the floor. If he doesn’t work with Serge, he’s not gonna pan out.

Justise has the shooting yips. At Duke he was 48.6, 41.8 and 64 (FT)
Pro career: 41, 32, 64. The low FT number says it all. He doesn’t have it. If he was even in the high 70s (FT) there’d be reason for hope but he is what he is and likely will not improve. I’m sure he’s worked on it but Duke was like 7-8 yrs ago and the FTs are exactly the same—very lousy. I’m actually pretty surprised the Clips took a run at this guy. I’m with you Chog—play him inside and forbid any outside shooting.

I thought Justise was an ok gamble at the time the Clips signed him (…man in retrospect I wish we could’ve used the MLE on Batum instead), but his offensive game has looked Ben Wallace level disjointed.

If he’s gonna continue to get minutes, Justise needs to be limited to smallball C, but in the Zubac role – that is, play tough defense, no offense outside the paint, set hard screens and roll to the basket, and swing the ball around.

Shai was fire last night. I have no idea how he gets off his funkly looking shotput step-back 3’s w/o getting them blocked, but dude is a star in the making. I hope he comes back one day a la Bledsoe (…but hopefully sooner lol)
