Wondering if "trap games" are an actual verifiable thing and not just sports fans being sports fans, I googled "nba trap games statistics" to see if there is any data concerning the subject. One article I came across is Debunking the Trap Game and Letdown Game Myths but it's NFL-centric. Didn't care to go farther down the rabbit hole.

Yea I’m not counting on them being that sloppy again tonight – the TWolves hustle and offensive rebounding seems replicable though, if the Clips aren’t careful.

This game is going to be won or lost on the defensive glass. If LAC can more or less control the boards (doesn’t need to be perfect, just ok), they should have a better defense and offense. But the Wolves might be able to just dominate the offensive glass and hustle points categories to an extent that is overwhelming.

TWs were so sloppy with the ball, it was almost comical. 23 TOs that were spread out among a lot of their guys. Not having KAT and DLo had to be a factor. TWs coach has to be preaching: Take care of the ball. Looking for Serge, Gabriel, Ennis and Winslow to grab a few tonite. They better.

Watching the TWolves-Lakers game yesterday has me terrified of our lack of rebounding. The TWolves somehow lost despite getting 20 offensive rebounds and 17 more shots up than the Lakers (going 9-38 from 3 and 23 TOs probably explains it…). We can’t count on that happening again though – the guys need to make sure to box out and not lose sight of their guys, especially when the Clips are playing a zone defense.

We’ve got almost a reverse of the Brklyn game. TWs on a back to back, losing the first, depleted roster vs. somewhat rested Clips at home. So, don’t let human nature take over and get overconfident/sloppy. Play a clean, disciplined game and just win the ones you’re “supposed” to win.
