No one player or coach is going to save us. The Clippers need to save themselves.

Figure out the 3rd Q collapses.

He invaded PG’s landing space two seasons ago and major injury to PG.

Basketball is a physical sport for sure, but if the refs are not going to protect both teams from becoming a rugby match, we need to have match the physical play.

Obviously OKC was a tough opponent, more than ready to make the Clipper shortcomings even more glaring. One big thing is that the Clippers’ margin for error is extremely slim, and a team like OKC can just wait for the Clippers to slow down and start beating themselves. That makes it frustrating, because the Clips showed that if they were just a little sharper (Zu), maintained their defensive intensity, and cut way down on mistakes they would be able to compete with one of the very best teams in the league. This probably wasn’t the game to get upset about, and it’s nice that they played well and hard and built a lead. It just shows why you have to cut down on mistakes and finish and win games against teams like Phoenix and Portland.

The KPJ thing just can’t go on, it doesn’t seem. If he had zero minutes instead of 96 and was patiently waiting for his chance to play, how different would things be? Good question. The problem is that it negates the good effort of so many others, and it’s so unnecessary. Just say no. Why is that so hard? Bones is a more than obvious, easy solution, but it’s not the only one. Kris Dunn has shown so much already that he could lead the second team without Harden and Norm, and things would be just fine. And Terance would do fine with that group too–he even needs to be forced into situations where he’s forced to score and make plays, unfortunately.

Zu needed to be just a smidge sharper and better, and that would have made it easier for others. He’s in a new role, where he’s going to be one of the main advantages that the Clippers have on offense, and Harden is very good at getting it to him. He’s not going to play great every night, of course, but he’s got to adjust to having a primary role.

I was a little disappointed that Coffey wasn’t better, while Terance showed some signs of life, but mostly in the first half. My view is that all the other guys need to make plays, including Terance, DJJ, Dunn, and Coffey, along with Norm and Zu (and Batum), set up or not by Harden, and that will set the tone and flow for Harden to thrive, to hit shots, keep rebounding. This was especially obvious with Lu Dort giving him a hard time, but the Clippers were still in good shape. Have to see what happens next.

At least Terance had a decent game–that’s the only bright spot I can see.

That KPJ was a Usd 20 M player before.
Lue,  don’t offer to coach hard another Clips player, be one and done.

Jordan Miller wont take shots early in the shot clock,  unlike Porter (who got coached hard) and PG last season ..

Miller, Brown, Bones continue to warm the bench with team losing majority of games even with big leads.

Miller shined during the pre season since it was under another HC.
The problem with Miller is he is a sophomore.
Lue prefers  veterans regardless of how it hurts his team over and over. Creepily Doc like.

Sticking to 10 man rotation ?
Champion coaches Kerr and Malone play 12.
How can the defensive intensity be sustained without slip off for at least 1 quarter or 2 per game. Fresh legs are needed with the frequency of games played for the 82 game season.
Humans are not machines even for Robocop and how he ended late last season with his heavy minutes earlier on.

Start out locked in on defense. Check. Play as a team. Check. Opposing team makes a run. Check. Clipper “vets” fall apart. Check.

It is apparent that Harden is below average. His mind is still okay; however, his body says, “I can’t do this anymore.”

I would rather have Dunn as the lead point guard.

KPJ should go to the G-league and work on his shot.

Would this team have a worse record if they played JMiller, Bones, and Kobe?

It’s the same pattern. Opponent makes a run. Clippers proceed to turn over the ball over 3 or 4 times consecutively.

The Clippers need a new SYSTEM.

We’re going to blame it all on a nut job reclamation project when harden who’s getting $35 million looks like an old man out there and there’s no other dependable offensive players besides Norm? Harden is not deadly from three anymore and is a shell of his former self. I thought we could be a .500 team but I’m lowering that to .300 now. Likely the worst team in the west. To even get to being a .500 team we would need the following four things:

A real power forward.

A backup floor general.

A backup center

Another three point sniper.

I’ve used this Marcellus Wallace quote numerous times before but we are “pretty fucking far from ok.”

Someone may come sniffing around for Norm near the trade deadline. He’s really good in his role and could put a contender over the top.

This team/coach is making it very hard for fans to stay with them. Seems that every game the other side just kills us with OPEN, UNCONTESTED 3s. Guess we need to hire a defensive oriented assistant…oh wait.
It’s almost as if these opponents are giving us the chance to beat them by opening the door and then daring us to walk thru but we don’t or can’t. There’s a lot of blame to go around–this is not just about one player, Coach K.
