OKC in their rebuild has no real use for George Hill though. If they can get any picks for him, I think they have to take that deal.

Doc and the 76ers has a TPE that would fit Lou perfectly in it. I think getting value out of Lou at this point is unlikely. I think you’d give like OKC Fi and a second rounder, and maybe can get another 2nd rounder from Philly for Lou.

PG, KL out vs Atl per covid protocol; Bev out for knee (did not make the trip, first leg anyway). Covid and injuries can hit any team at any time.

Yeah, especially for the scenario we’re about to enter with Bev out. Hill would be a great substitute but hard like you’ve all said, someone has to want Lou first.

There’s a lot to like about Hill. Somewhat like Batum in that he’s a relatively careful player, values each possession. He’d be a solid addition.

I’ve been on the Lou for Hill deal for a while, and it was nice to be able to evaluate George Hill in these two games, given I haven’t had a chance to catch a Thunder game this season. I’ll admit after the first game, I was a bit underwhelmed by Hill. He hit some shots, but didn’t have a big impact on the game

This game, obviously Hill had a much better game, and made the argument pretty clear if you’re going to base a trade on two head-to-head games.

Part of me wants to hold out hope that Lou can regain that borderline all-star form, but I’ve probably been pessimistic on that end since the bubble last season. I still relate Lou’s career to guys like Allen Iverson and Jamal Crawford, who both struggled to continue to play at a high level into their mid-30’s.

Hill probably won’t replicate his 46% from 3 shooting from last season, but he’s been pretty consistently over 40% for a while (outside of one bad season). If he can still be a spot up shooter and keep the ball moving, just feels like he would fit the new look Clippers system a bit better.

Getting value for Lou might be out to door, but his expiring contract and 2nd rounder still have value.

They handled their business, as they should have, so we can be happy about that BUT the opposition was BAD! This upcoming road trip will be a lot more telling.. They get an easy schedule right after that trip before they face a tough schedule to close out the 1st half, starting mid Feb

These were some GENEROUS grades! Outside of Kawhi, Zu & Reggie (all deserving As), no one deserved a B, I guess Bev did

Serge for as good as he was offensively, which you’d expect him to against okc, he was horrible defensively & lacked effort! He gets a D from me

PG was bad if we’re comparing him to himself but overall he was meh & warranted a C-

Pat Pat & Luke missed shots & weren’t bad on the other end & showed effort so both get a C+

As for Lou… An F, plain & simple! You can be aggressive & try to get his own, which I just said I wanted him to do, but you can do so without throwing up horrible shots & not offering much else offensively.. As for his defense, it was as bad as ever! His first 4 min or so we’re horrendous defensively.. He was out of position on damn near EVERY possession & multiple times on the same possession! Again, if you’re trying, but getting beat from time to time (Luke for example), koo but when there’s no effort…Fuck that! He & Serge were embarrassing to watch on the defensive end!

A few games ago I said I’d give Lou 5 games to see what he can do with THIS team, & unfortunately, not much! He brings lil to nothing of value while Reggie has outplayed him by a wide margin & should be getting his minutes! His & Fi’s days are numbered & need to be traded sooner rather than later.. Hill, whom I was still on the fence on, made me a believer.. He was great both games

This past stretch is the best the team has looked the past two seasons and we haven’t even peaked.

Fair enough. I’d amend my comment above from “a trade seems likely” to “the FO is likely looking to trade him.” Whether or not the Clips can get an upgrade/better fit in return (and whether or not Lou threatens to retire if traded) are the issues.
