Yes, he’s alot worse! The good thing though, is that they don’t need to play Bones. I’m sure he’ll look better with more reps, offensively atleast, but when you already struggle w/o Kawhi out there, every possession on BOTH ends is important. How easy the opposition has scored whenever he’s been involved defensively is concerning. Perhaps switching up the defense & going to more zone will help but who knows. What he brings to the offense is def refreshing so you want to give him min

It’s a tough call. I remember last offseason during free agency the Clips had limited roster spots and availability to spend money. Always my preference was to use it on a young upside guy like for example a Neemias Queta over a low upside vet like Paul Milsap or LaMarcus Aldridge.

I did view John Wall as a high upside guy since we hadn’t seen him in a year and last time he was really healthy he was an all-star. I wasn’t in love with his game, but there was hope adding that kind of talent would raise the ceiling of this team.

I don’t view Westbrook as a high upside player. It’s been at least like 3 years since I feel like he’s been a positive contributor on the court. We’ve seen a lot of bad basketball from him, and an unwillingness to adjust his game. I view him much more in the Blake Griffin, LaMacus Aldridge, Paul Millsap category. I just have nearly zero hope he would look at better for the Clips than he did for the Lakers.

Still glad Reggie gone, keep an eye on denver stats
I doubt he does a lot for them, they already have there pieces.
As erratic as bones is his first step way quicker then Reggie’s and can we really say that Reggie is that much better if a defender?

I mentioned EG before the deadline as I read clippers were interested and honestly everybody here didn’t seem too enthusiastic and some said he could be/ was washed. I knew he was just on a bad team and also asked if he could do some pg duties which he has now done a tad . EG is perfect vet for a playoff team. 2 way player , cerebral, calm and collected and doesn’t seem to have ego. I can see him staying with the clippers and the FO moving Morris or ROCO over him next season, he still got plenty left for another season or 2.

Uh…was I one of those culprits? I was down on our trade deadline day in general (I wanted a bigger acquisition – mostly John Collins, because of our MM issue), but other than being upset we had to move back w/ Milwaukee in the 1st round, I don’t recall being particularly down on EJ…

Edit: Just re-read my comment on the trade rountable – gave it a C. Don’t think that really made me a hater, I’d consider that more “meh.” He’s obviously been better than “meh” in his first couple games though – hope he can keep it up.

I was wrong about EJ. He’s not a wash on defense compared to Kennard. He’s actually a good defender. EJ, Batum, Norm can all close instead of MM.

Ty Lue, WAKE UP! PG13 and Morris were brain dead in the 2nd and he left them in there. Tighten the reigns! It’s not like you don’t have capable replacements on the bench.
