would be starting a new arena with a new ground floor and maybe some draft picks/ new blood to christen the new arena…id be good with a rebuild if it was in a fresh arena..rolling the dice..if we are a .500 play in team it would be considered a win for us…but i think our ceiling would be higher

Sure, they’re great when they can play, but they’re injury-prone, getting older, and are paid a ton – we aren’t getting much for either of them.

That being said, I don’t think this team is best with him as a starter. I still think he’s best served running a 2nd unit without Kawhi and PG.

I haven’t really taken a look at the free agents, but there are worse ways to spend the mMLE (assume at a minimum that’s what it would take to keep him). Unfortunately this team doesn’t have a lot of pathways to add talent, so they do have to be very crafty in who they add and at what positions this summer.

Big thing is, if you do bring Russ back, I think you’d need a coach that won’t automatically start him due to his status in the league or friendship. I’d be higher on bringing Russ back with a new coach than just running it back with Ty and Russ (and MM).
