1) What would you say is a suitable matchup and role for him in this series?
– Something similar to what we saw but I’d like to see him out there in a small ball unit with Russ, Norm, EJ/Mann & Roco/Nico. Let’s say that unit is playing the suns starters, I’d put him on DA, Roco on cp, Russ on Book, EJ on KD & Norm on Craig. cp has always had success against Roco so I could see him trying to force the issue, which is what you want. If they run the 1-5 PNR, you switch it. Things get dicey when you involve Book or KD but unless they’re going 1 on 1 against Russ, they’re gonna have the advantage. I just rather they switch everything instead of playing their fuckin drop with Zu & let the suns pick them apart. Suns aren’t bothered by him, & Craig shooting lights out, isn’t helping. Contrary to what they want you to think, Plumlee has been good defensively & Zu has been the one who’s been bad & taken advantage of. I’d go away from Zu if he continues to be bad after his 1st shift. That’ll free up more Sr & Roco min & I’d go big with Plumlee. I’d also limit Bones min. He’s had some good moments but he gets too erratic & the other 4 guards give you more on both ends. You need better defense from Mann though cuz outside of guarding cp, he’s been horrible defensively.

 2) Given our needs and what RoCo could bring (and has historically brought) vs KD, is that enough from Morris in 20 minutes of playing time? As I read it, Morris is never on-ball, not exactly effective off-ball and neither quick nor reliable enough on his box outs.
– This is something that’s simply not true. He may concede some boards to his guys but he boxes out fine. Wasn’t an issue this game either. He got switched on Book a few times & even though he got to his spots, he’s not gonna get bullied. The problem is, it’s hard for him to be physical with anyone cuz he has one of the worst defensive whistles in the league. We saw how a Book offensive foul turned into an And 1 & what appeared to be a clean block on Okogie was 2 FT & a tech. So when folks wanna throw out some bogus ass numbers, look no further to those 2 plays as well as 2 Plumlee blocks that were called fouls & a goal tending that led to a kd layup.

3) I could see the case for him in a different series. Or maybe, maybe in addition to RoCo. But not over Covington.
But again, I admit he’s the one player I’m biased against as he hasn’t convinced me and we have clearly a better option (based on post all-star break play) souring on the bench. I’d also add, we need quick rotations and hands, deflections and turnovers vs this team. The small ball minutes were a good example of it. RoCo could bring that while adding size, Morris is way too slow and unlike RoCo, can’t defend KD.
– Neither could guard KD & both have different things they can use against KD but it depends what the refs are gonna call. Through 3 games, we’ve seen how KD is constantly looking for & getting calls. Point is, both should be playing

I don’t know how, but the clips have to play the referees as much as they’re playing the suns. it’s so obvious the refs are biased. I’m sure Lue knows it, but keeps cool. Also, clippers were very well mannered game 3. not so much game 2. but you did see kawhi frustrated with the refs. I don’t expect Lue to say anything until it’s over. I think Doc would of got thrown out of both games.

Winning will be about making shots and making them miss shots. Clips can win. But the refs won’t make it easy.

Also, I heard JJ saying he thinks the NBA wants Sac to win over the Warriors. LOL. Just note, he is not on any team and is paid by the league. If you think the league wants Steph out then I don’t believe you.

From what I heard about RoCo, he played a few minutes but when he left he was using the stationary bike according to Noah Eagle on Clippers Talk. Sounded like RoCo was working through some pain and never returned.

Coach Lue failed miserably in his management of Morris’ minutes.

WTF is going on with RoCo. I noticed that he didn’t participate in shooting warm ups before the start of the 3rd Q.

Completely agree/had same thought. It’s clear there’s more to this and they probably know he’s done already, just don’t want to announce it. And he will be out for most of season if that’s the case.

I’m so over this era. Move everyone non-Bones/Mann/Zu and get as much draft capital as you can. Ballmer won’t because he wants to be competitive going into new arena but this era is such a slog of just waiting for the next injury to one/both of these bums.
