Victory was in reach! Some wonky line ups and Booker going supernova ruined things. I never liked the Clippers chances without PG but if they were gonna win, I’d want it to be as soon as possible versus drawn out series. Cam Payne coming back could really hurt things.

Watch John Konchar’s block highlights on AD and it feels like this is a guy that’s perfect for our team: unassuming, competitive and nasty.
And he’s old as a 4th year player (27). He will fit right in.

Listening to the Pod, I agree with the suggestion that we turn to Zu for more offense.
Also, depending on the officiating, we have to be more physical in our defense. Crowding is really important to ruffle finesse players like Durant.

Nico, Norm, TMann and Bones — we need your three point shots to return to the mean average.

The only real hope we have of winning this series is if they wear down and take a casualty. What we saw in game 2 was their having too many guys for us to match firepower with. I don’t expect that to change. Hopefully in game 3 they get fatigued and start clanging shots.I think we can get another off of some crazy shooting night from one of our role players but short of that we’re going to need an inside straight to win this. It’s still super fun basketball though and we’ve held our heads high–which was the most important thing to me besides winning obviously.

I don’t know, I think one of the strengths of Booker and Durant is how many minutes they can play. KD has done this before with massive minutes. It’s def in their best interest to keep riding KD/Booker and I wouldn’t expect that to necessarily backfire within this series.

Bones was solid in terms of hustle, but I think his lack of size made it easier for Suns to score. I think I would have rather more Batum (or Roco), especially in line ups with Norm.

The smaller line ups didn’t kill us last night, but i think that was partially due to some luck. They hustled, but PHX was also missing shots they would typically make and our guards were able to score. I wouldn’t game plan for that every night.

That, good defense, a better coaching job when guys don’t hit their shots/play ineffective defense, turnovers at 15 or lower and I agree. Gotta play really well but the team COULD be good enough to take this series via means of playing well rather than depending on Phoenix messing up. But it’s a tough ask, Batum and EG haven’t looked great, you can’t afford any slippage defensively vs their starters and coach Lue hasn’t given Covington a chance or Mann more minutes even when the game very clearly asked for it.

Not sure how this goes, just think Clippers have it in their own hands when they play near their ceiling and several players step it up.
