yep that year they drafted Fi and Mann. Since day one of summer league, Mann looked like the 1st round pick and probably is playing up to 1st round pick expectations. Fi is the one that looked like he was the 48th pick of the draft. I’m willing to give them a passing grade for that draft, but still have some other questionable moves.

I feel like Otto Porter Jr is going to be that guy for a lot of teams this year. As far as Olynyk is concerned, Rockets have 15 guys on their roster. I think he makes the most sense as a buyout guy because of his age and also, he might hurt their chances, oh so very slightly, of bombing. He did last night.
3rd string centers haven’t been interested because why would they? They don’t get to play for a new contract here/no one believes in us anymore except for maybe Doc Rivers, and he was probably just being polite. I’m not saying they should sleep on us, because I’m feeling more optimistic everyday, but you aren’t seeing the Blake’s and Aldridges and Drummond’s flock to us like old flys on shit. But someone who can play forward? I truly believe we actually have some playing time to offer. Morris’s best stats were small F for the Knicks. Have him play that position off the bench. It was a toss up between Batum and him as most effective starter anyways. Than pair Olynyk (whose 3 ball has been a little shaky) with Morris & Ibaka off the bench. Plenty of space for Mann to tear up some guards in the paint. Depending on how the guard situation works out maybe it’s Reggie he’s kicking the ball out to, and our historic 3 point output is still a thing. Not so sure Rondo and Mann makes sense together. Could be wrong. I just envision a whole lot of hesitation at the 3 point line

I remember during lob city when we were in desperate need of a staring caliber wing and Tayshawn Prince got dealt to the wolves (?) and was expected to get bought out but they kept him. Totally fucked us up. I hope that isn’t what happens with Olynyk because he really would be ideal for us. I’m taking Zu over Drummond and that’s not me being a homer. He’s just better and it’s not like we need Shaq to put us over the top. Just someone serviceable. We’re probably in pretty good shape without adding another big but it would be nice insurance.

I’m not sure It’s the Rockets intention to buy out Olynyk, but I think that could be an awesome signing. Not just because of his most recent win in Houston. We could move Morris to backup sf, and offer Olynyk either the starting spot (if that’s what it takes to acquire him) but preferably we’d just start Batum because of familiarity and have him play PF off the bench.

Sorry, I have no idea what PG13's struggles are, all I can tell you, is it's butterfly wings in comparison to whatever Kyrie is battling. Take it from someone who worked at Mission Act. There are reports that when the Cav's won the championship, Kyrie was visibly glum. That is a reaction that makes no sense. That was an early flag that he struggles with some sort of chemical imbalance in his brain. I can't list you Kyrie's history of disruption, because it's unrelenting. It's like trying to remember all the times Trump insulted minority groups. All you can remember is it was seemingly a constant. I respect the man for his charity, and for involvement with BLM, but that doesn't mean I take his participation on a playoff roster as a certainty. There was talk of him not being an NBA player anymore THIS year. Now as for their supporting cast: Jeff Green Blake DJ and now Lamarcus THOUSAND YEAR OLD DUDE's WHO ARE CRAWLING BACK FROM THE GRAVE. Jeff Green is particularly impressive. Yes they do have that white kid who shoots 3's (sorry I can't remember his name for some reason right now) I'm not saying they aren't good. I'm saying I won't be shocked if they lose to Giannis, or Embiid if those two aren't injured. I won't find that outcome to be whatever that stupid headline claims. Now US. All those talking heads last year, blowing smoke up our asses for naught? We probably aren't second of all time, but we are hiiiiiigh up there in the halls of disappointment my friend. The equivalent of Playoff MJ coming off a championship to do what? Lose a game 7 to an inexperienced team while up 3-1. That's in the Valhalla of shame
