I hope the guys aren’t letting go of the rope and that IJax gets a shot at helping us — and Brook — out. This bit of needed rest should help the team and give us fans something to root for THIS SEASON.

For better or worse they want to attack aggressively and I think what we were all exited about was the pace that we discovered with this new iteration. I don’t know if it’s fatigue or Ty is trying to prepare the team to play “Playoff basketball,” but we were walking the ball up the court about 90% of the time last night which hasn’t been the DNA of the turnaround. It’s turning Garland into a midget version of Harden and allowing teams to play us more physically in half court sets. I believe this is why DG got pissed and left early because he wants to play more frenetically and I think this also helps Benn get going. This is probably some balancing act between Brook and Kawhi’s older legs and the younger guys who want to really push things. With I-Jax out we’re stuck playing Brook a lot now so perhaps Ty is just trying to stitch whatever rotations together he can. It will be interesting to see what two days rest does for this squad. If Brook and Kawhi can keep up with the kids then we may see a return to mid March form. But for how long?

The FO should not re-sign him this offseason. His tunnel vision and lack of basketball IQ will not improve significantly enough to warrant a long term contract. Vision and IQ is something you either have or you don’t at his age.

I would definitely like to see the FO re-sign Collins provided his contract demands are reasonable. Non-tax payer MLE is where I see him signing for. He may want more $ than that but I don’t see NBA teams offering him over $20 to $25 mil per year for a number 4 option under this current CBA.

As for everybody else, I would like to see the FO move on from Miller, DJJ, Lopez, Dunn and Batum this offseason. We need more shooting and playmaking to compliment KL and Garland.

With that said, I would like to see the FO target the following guys either thru free agency or trades this offseason if we don’t end up getting the Pacers pick.

  • Dyson Daniels
  • Aaron Wiggins (OKC is facing a serious roster crunch this offseason that they need to clear up spots for their draft picks)
  • Ajay Mitchell (Reminds me of a poor man’s Brunson. OKC can’t afford to keep him given their the cap situation going into next year)
  • Peyton Watson

And lastly, if Wemby stays healthy then I think the Spurs come out of the west.

Need better than that from the team’s 2nd best player.

I think talking with the press might help him think through the adjustments he has to make given the heightened level of scrutiny he’s getting from the league’s better defensive teams.

Our season has a lot of wild swings, but we’re still in the mix.

OKC and Spurs are the best 2 teams in the league — time for the changing of the guard.

Actually good to see D. Fox on a good team after all those years on the Kings.

Can’t believe that Harrison Barnes is still killing us from behind the arc.

Not sure that the NBA is the same entertainment draw anymore.

We will win Sunday with a little rest to a Kings team that will be more serious about tanking.

Portland should lose Monday in Denver which will put us up one game in the loss column

We should beat Dallas on Tuesday thus balancing out the win column.

Clips 40-38 blazers 40-39

We will lose to OKC and Portland will lose to San Antonio on Wednesday

Clips 41-39 Blazers 40-40

So everything should come down to that Friday April 10th game in Portland. If they win they will take the 8 seed on the second tie breaker (conference record).

Assuming they do win Golden state can’t catch us so the final game against them won’t matter in terms of 9/10 seeding, but we would need to win that to keep our streak of 14 winning seasons alive.

The good news is that the Warriors should have nothing to gain from winning that final game so they may rest guys too, whereupon we can still keep the streak alive while resting guys until hosting the 9/10 matchup against those same Warriors on the 15th. That would afford us four days of rest before the play in.

Despite how washed we’ve been looking I still like our chances at home in that one so there may be one last enjoyable night of fandom before it comes crashing down in Portland for the 8/9 tilt—who will almost certainly have their entire team healthy by then. But, you never know what can happen with injuries etc so this is why they play the games.

Can he somehow snap out of his tunnel vision? Doesn’t look like he can. And, when he does pass, the ball comes to the teamate so fast, high or wide that it’s uncatchable.
We were really exposed by a really good, young team tonite.

Man, it looks increasingly difficult just in the last couple days.
Next game against the Kings will be vital.
Hope we bounce back.

And Benn also had another blunder in that stretch. Benn is playing himself into a cheaper contract with us which would make keeping him more palatable. We just don’t have any young talent to spare so we are going to have to lean into whatever we can and cross our fingers.YKN is going to be good. So is Sanders.

I think these last two games have demonstrated just how wide the gap is between us and all the upcoming younger teams. For this reason I’m pretty sure we will move on from Kawhi this summer. Hopefully we can get another prospect or two back in such a move. All NBA is looking good so we would be selling extremely high on him.

I think that once we flush out the poltergeists of the 213 era and have a rotation of young energetic players we might be able to get something clicking for next season. No chips on the horizon, but we can definitely be more fun than this shit show. I don’t think Ty will want to be part of a youth movement, but who knows?
