I don’t remember seeing more disinterested team in a long while. Picture that stuck with me was 3 guys in blue, standing under the basket to collect the rebound and Derrick White squeezing in between them, stealing the ball, curling outside and back to drill one in from 6 feet, while our guys didn’t move an inch. Pretty much whole game in 5 seconds.

That sucks, because good or bad Clips never lacked the heart.

Winslow was particularly atrocious. He didn’t look like he wanted to play basketball last night.

yea I get that too. They’re legitimately in the playoff picture and don’t look like they’re giving up that spot anytime soon.

Unfortunately I don’t think Cleveland is looking to trade him anymore – they’re playing too well. I doubt they pull an all-in/win-now blockbuster move at the deadline, but I don’t think they’re gonna be sellers this year either.

Bad loss for sure but kinda expected as a spill over from the OKC excruciating loss. Bad feel sorry for yourself feelings likely remained. This team is really fragile without KL and so every key core absence is magnified. Talking Mook and Hart and yes, Hart has become a core performer for this team. Reggie was crappy and it's probly a good thing he only played 20 mins, Ty's best decision of the game. Memo points to Clips:

Teams with bad records who come into your house are dangerous
If you leave a professional 3 pt shooter alone, he'll likely hit that shot, over and over again and thereby put you in a hole you can't crawl out of with a thin team.
Boston is playing like a sloppy rookie so back to G. Give Keon a chance.
Sign a replacement player cuz this team needs new blood.
If Zu has to play, encourage him to be more offensive minded. No way he should constantly give up inside position by passing out to shooters. Seems dumb.

As a whole, this was a shitty loss, but in the big picture, it is only a loss. However, Reggie, PG, EBled or anyone who is initiating the offense, you need to think and not just run into three defenders, jump and make some crazy pass that will be intercepted. You cannot lose your first defender so easily. Fight through those screens. We really did look like we just woke up late for our 8 a.m. lecture. It is very strange when we see stretches of really good defense in game, then we poop in the bed like this one against the Spurs. Have to get it together — it is not that complicated — pass, move, defend. Are we that bad not having Morris and Hart and integrating PG and Ibaka? Sounds like we need to spend some practice time together.

Definitely feels like between Bledsoe, Serge, and Justise, they have 3 guys that really aren’t living up to their expectations, and have short or expiring salaries that can match almost any deal in the league… well except for John Wall. But for example if Cleveland still wants to move off of Kevin Love, they have the contracts to match. The fit might be a bit awkward if everyone is healthy, but he’s having a solid year shooting and rebounding rate is back up to prime levels. For a Clippers team, bottom 10 in rebounding, he could be an asset.

the bad losses this year starting to really pile up is getting a bit concerning. While I understand without Kawhi, being basically tied for 5th in the conference isn’t bad, but the top 4 are starting to really separate themselves from the rest of the conference. Any other year being barely over 0.500 would probably mean probably being somewhere between the 8th through 10th seed, and basically that’s probably how the Clips are playing. They’re just lucky other western conference teams haven’t been living up to expectations either. Giving up games like the Pelicans, OKC, Spurs, is going to really bite you in the butt at the end of the year.

While I understand there will be nights where you just don’t shoot the ball well. Over the course of the season there will always be some bad losses, just feels like they’ve already racked up a season’s worth of bad losses before the halfway point of the year. Just a quick tally from last year, and I count 6 losses against teams that didn’t make the playoffs (not including the last 2 games they tanked). Meanwhile this year they’ve already dropped games to NO, NO, SAC, SAC, OKC, and SA, 6 games against teams unlikely to make the playoffs. Obviously without Kawhi I shouldn’t expect the same level of dominance as last year, but this is only 31 games in, and on pace to more than double the bad losses from a season ago. And the schedule is only getting tougher from here. They’ve played an extremely home heavy schedule so far, I think the most home games in the league so far.

Makes me really think they’re missing maybe a 6’1″ guard that will bring the energy and hold everyone accountable on a nightly basis.
