I think it’s more about physicality and anticipation. I just felt Utah was getting to the right spot quicker than we were, and elbowing players out of the way. We had that same problem of when Zu is dealing with a true big, the rebounds come off to the weak side. Other than Russ, no one was winning those battles.When we get a pass, grab hold of the ball first before making the next move.Stuff like that.

Rebounding and better passing–sounds like your talking about us just playing “fundamentally sound” b ball. Agree to the max. Who, pray tell, do you think (and anyone else who cares to reply) are the most fundamentally sound players on the team (of the guys who regularly play at least 10 mins a game? I’ll rank ’em with the best first:

Btw, if the Clippers are looking to upgrade the team, the place to look is not at the guard position, but the PF slot. It’s about securing the defensive glass.

Denver is dismantling OKC. It took 3 games for Jokic to get to MVP form. Two things about Denver that stand out: defensively, you can beat them 1 v 1, but they rarely fail to collect a rebound if you miss; they set their curl screens very well to where their shooters are wide open for roll, catch and shoot plays.

Wish I could go tonight. Wemby is giving off Lebron vibes in terms of his game to game improvement and impact in year 1. I haven’t been able to rewatch any of the Utah game, but in a league as tightly competitive as today’s NBA, how your team fares on securing the defensive glass, winning loose ball plays, and getting good shot quality determines who wins. It’s not as much about talent differential anymore. It’s more about execution.

Our Q1 execution was poor in terms of securing defensive rebounds and just making clean catches off of passes.

Our Q4 execution in the last 5 minutes was bad due to a tired Kawhi fumbling the bag and over dribbling, the team not looking to the hot hand (Paul George) and Lue keeping too small of a lineup in to secure rebounds.

Our offense through 2 games is highly productive. We’ve just got to get more quality possessions by rebounding the ball and making passes that guys can catch and then moving it when a double team appears.
