Put him on like the Rockets and just let him run the show for a bunch of scorers around him. Would just be curious if you could hide some of his deficiencies, and highlight his strengths and have him look like an NBA player.

That being said, no one is building a team around a 24-year old former 2nd round pick, who can barely stay on the court in Summer League.

I’ve always said that I thought his time with the Clippers was done, and still seems like going that way. I would love to keep him around in Ontario, but do wonder if there is a team out there that would be a better fit for his skillset.

I mean “anyone” can get hot from deep one night and put up the counting stats. BUT I mean 35 points is a mark that no other Clippers player has ever gotten to in summer league, so obviously it’s not something ANYONE can do. Even the best Clippers I’ve ever seen in summer league, Blake and SGA couldn’t get those kind of numbers.

But at the same time, KB’s night didn’t have the same kind of dominance we’ve seen from the likes of Blake and SGA, where they are so clearly the star of the show. Maybe that’s a good thing, since KB isn’t coming into a team that’s going to ask him to be that star. He got 35 points in ways you could actually see him having a role on with the Clippers. Getting steals, running in transition, and spot up 3 pointers.

So by that measure, KB night doesn’t mean he’s going to be some star in the league, but I do think it is a good sign that he might be able to play a role on this team, especially if a consolidation trade (which he’s not a part of) is finally made to bring in another big piece. Or KB’s night was good enough to raise some eyebrows and have his value in that trade actually be more meaningful that it was 24-hours ago.

I do feel like KB has another big step up to take when he gets into NBA shape. His frame and size are NBA size, but feel like if he turned that size into grown up muscle, he really could take another leap forward.

Russ Terance PG Kawhi Zu
Bones Norm KJ Nico Plumlee

That makes Boston, Coffey, Covington, and Brown the four main roster guys competing for depth minutes (we’ll see what happens with spot 15 between Morris, Preston, etc).

If that’s the opening night plan, I’d rather have Kobe in Ontario playing and keep RoCo around for day-to-day emergencies/garbage time. Hopefully, Kobe will have the opportunity to prove that if someone goes out for a couple of weeks, he should get the call to come up and play… but he’s unlucky in the sense that all of our plug-and-play depth is 6’7″ wing/forwards, so there isn’t necessarily a clear-cut situation where 1 or 2 guys are out and he’d be the only obvious choice.

Of course, it could all get simplified if a trade that costs LAC 2 of the players listed in that 10-man rotation (plus Morris, presumably) only brings back 1 (probably Harden, and if Tucker comes, he stinks and in my opinion isn’t someone who should play nightly when you have other options). If Kobe ends up stuck behind washed PJ Tucker all year, it’ll certainly give us something to complain about. It would also help Kobe’s (and Brandon’s) case for minutes next year if Amir ends up in a deal.

Miller will be in the g league for the year to develop unless the injuries bug hit.

Preston is packing his bags for Europe

Bol Bol signed with pho:(

Defends and rebounds well, constant movement, and great finishes.

But I am not sure how much offensive juice he has.

He could use a good, confidence booster, game.

I don’t know about you guys, but it looks to me like Moon has been working on his game. Especially his handle.

Very confident display.

Baby Clippers, as I like to call the summer league team, have shown a winning mentality, something that sometimes lacks from the “grownups”.

Brown, obviously trusts his shot, which is enough for me. Combined with his rebounding, passing, defense and physical strength, I will take him over MM anyday.

If we somehow produce a poor man’s Draymond Green (physical measurements are similar), I would be ecstatic.

Miller is good, even though on the quiet side. His offensive rebound over one defender, that leads to Brown’s three that tied the game for us, was huge.
Our 2 rookies know how to play and always create winning plays.
They will be fine.

Great story, some skill there but not an nba level talent. Think he’ll do well overseas but definitely maddening (still) that we took him over guys who were (and are) better (Ayo being one).

And, it very well may say that his most recent college shooting is more of what we can expect going forward. He’s made a statement and now needs to back it up.
