Heck, Houston bench and Old Man Jeff Green kept the game way too close.

Steph has a knack for giving me intestinal discomfort while watching every Clippers-Warriors match for the last 13 years.

Hope you feel better soon Rob. The only thing I differ on is the appraisal of the Warriors as still being “scary.” They were absolutely trounced by the rockets in a game where Steph was held to 3 points— and that 3 points was a halftime buzzer beating heave from the logo. I think the context surrounding their loss to the Spurs is also noteworthy insofar as it was not only the Spurs JV team, but they were on a b2b and most eye popping of all they walked the Warriors down in their own gym to close the game. It wasn’t just a flukey shot by Barnes. They took them apart and they folded. Butler has been underwhelming too. In a single game like Sunday they do concern me because they are so mentally quick that they could deflect a ball here or there or make other pivotal plays to snag the W. We probably won’t meet them in a series but I think we would wear them down utterly within 5–6 games. Am not so sure they could beat the Lakers to advance anyway. I think they are the Phoenix Suns 2.0

Dunn, Kawhi? Guy’s so pure and confident from outside—can’t just play “home he misses” D. Sure hope we can avoid them.

I was kinda high on Bogi’s handle, until I saw him get easily stripped. Hopefully he won’t make that mistake twice.
Optimism is good but it only takes one L (or other negatives) to reverse course.
And speaking of negatives, how bout Nico going out with a groin after being scorching
hot from 3—life isn’t fair. Don’t expect him to suit up any time soon. Rest and heal up Nico (and bring that hot shooting hand with you).

As Dr. Shap and one of the Christopher brothers were discussing Justin Russo’s article on how Dunn is a pressure relief value for Harden and how Harden looks very fresh for April.

There is a lot of optimism in Clipper Nation right now. Backing away from jumping out my first floor window.

At least, Kobe hit a 3.

They’ve won 13 of the last 15. The only losses were OKC and Cavs; the two best in the NBA. I mean, we all grouse about losses to inferior teams … but haven’t dropped one since March 11th. Beat every other playoff team and every lower tier teams.

They’re playing liking a real contender.

LAC has @SAC and @GSW left to play. They will still need to win both to secure the highest possible seed. At this point, they’ll be either the #4 or #5 seed.

Denver: 2 games left vs Memphis and @Houston. Houston may rest most of their guys as that game means nothing to them. That Memphis matchup, however, is key. If Memphis wins that game, LAC would become the #4 seed, Memphis the #5 seed, Den #6, GSW #7 with Minnesota lurking as they have a tiebreaker over Denver.
LAC would still need to win out to clinch that #4 seed even if Denver loses vs Memphis.

Memphis: 3 tough games vs Minn, @DEN (back to back) and closing vs Dallas. From a LAC standpoint, we’d want Memphis to beat Minn and Den and lose to Dallas. I think Memphis will go 2-1 over this stretch and finish at 49-33, though I could see them running the table and finishing in a tie with LAC at 50-32 (LAC has the tiebreaker).

Minnesota has @Memphis, Brooklyn, Utah. Clips would like to see Minnesota lose 1 more game to get more cushion in the standings. If Minn runs the table, they’ll be at 49-33. A loss by LAC in 1 of their last 2 games would probably drop them below Minn unless there are 3 or 4 teams tied with that record.

Lakers face Houston at home and then @Portland. I doubt they lose both, but if they did, LAC would overtake them and be the #3 seed if the Clippers were to run the table and Denver were to drop a game. I do think LAL could lose to Houston, but Portland may tank to stay below Phx in the standings for draft purposes.
