It’s crazy how the chemistry is within the Thunder. Shai is an alpha but he doesn’t act like it. The whole team is around the same age (which is great for chemistry) and are buying in their roles while playing hard.

While we’re stuck with ISO, ISO, ISO and playing 35+ year olds who think they’re still Alphas. While everyone else is confused with there roles since it keeps changing.

At this point we trade everyone for youngins and first round picks. Zu will fetch the most and can probably get you 2 first rounders at least.

I honestly can’t think of a worse current GM than Frank. No other GM has destroyed their franchise to the extent that Frank has done to us.

Definitely. Frank is going to have to turn water into wine to justify keeping his gig and I will go ballistic if there’s any extension before he’s forced to deliver. I’m just willing to see what he can do first. Ty gets $15 million a year. What coach has ever gone 6-19 and has not been fired? It’s normally standard procedure. Perhaps they are closing ranks on aspiration. I don’t know. But it’s creepy nonetheless. I vent in the way that I do to help energize faithful that there is light at the end of the tunnel once we purge whatever culture has been blighting this franchise. Like I keep saying, we are in an era of unfathomable talent so rebuilding may not take as long as we think. But it’s going to take folks with vision at the helm to exploit this bounty and my biggest concern is seeing ownership/management still living in 2016 when guys like Ty are dinosaurs now.

To be fair, I was dead wrong about last year – I actually had a lot of fun watching last season, and the team punched way above its weight. Unfortunately it really does look like that was the last gasps of life for our “superstars” before they got old old. I think Ty is more responsible than Frank overall, but there’s plenty of blame to go around. Re: Wall/Hart, I don’t even blame Frank that much for that, as George, Kawhi, and Ty had all been publicly clamoring for a PG. Sure, it’s Frank’s job to understand that it’s not in the best interests of the team, but I can at least see why he did it. I put a lot more of the blame on him for our dismal draft record over the years (e.g. Jerome over MPG, Preston over Miles McBride, etc.), and for the random bouts of feuding he’s done w/ Ty that led to brain dead moves like trading for 1/3 of a season of washed Eric Gordon and then bringing in Russ to completely disrupt any potential for Mann as a “PG” and for Bones to settle in.

Do I think Frank’s the worst GM in the league? No (…but now that Nico’s been fired he does move up the list), but I also don’t think he’s done nearly enough to justify the kind of job security he’s been afforded over the years. Like I think he’s probably somewhere in the middle, but among the bottom half of GMs in the league, but for some reason he’s been here for almost 10 yrs, and this is the firs time we’ve heard any real chatter about him being on the hot seat (…and somehow also chatter about an extension, which I’m really hoping was made up and leaked by his camp and not real).

Frank is nowhere near as blameless for the PG trade as you’re making him out to be. He put us in the position to get fleeced by being unable to sell Kawhi on patience or playing with SGA, by whiffing on his first two choices for his co-star (KD and Butler) who wouldn’t have required a trade at all, and by being a terrible negotiator. And let’s not forget his brilliant choice to draft Jerome over MPJ, who we might have been able to put in the trade instead of Shai, given how hyped he was as a prospect at the time. Ballmer wouldn’t have even felt the need to meddle if Frank hadn’t manuevered us into a position of obvious weakness and desperation. He is a terrible, unqualified GM and he needs to go. We as fans deserve to finally have a real executive calling the shots, not a mediocre-at-best coach pretending to be a GM.

One more thing. The most intellectually dishonest takes are by those who defend Ty while at the same time bitching that we don’t play through Zu more. This is actually laughable when it comes to clippers influencers. Am so sick of “Coach Lue.” What is this? The Bad News Bears or some Disney movie? This is an effort to endear his station to fans beyond his capabilities and is just cringe at this point.

You’ve been out front on this for 2-3 years now. So have many of us but I believe Ballmer is intractable when it comes to admitting he was wrong so here we still suffer. Other than Hartenstein/Wall I don’t hate frank as much as Ty. He was pressured into this by PG and Kawhi and by extension Ballmer. If they were to dump frank I wouldn’t shed any tears but he’s done some good things. I believe he’s going to do some more good things here very soon. If not I will have my torch and pitchfork ready to go.

My bad, forgot that last year we had some setup where I think we had to finish higher than Houston to keep our 1st…at this point I don’t even remember what trade that was a part of. The overarching point still stands though – our present situation is irrelevance and apathy, and unless we make some moves now, the future is still irrelevance.
