Ever since Batum was out with COVID, Lue has completely mismanaged this roster.

Bledsoe has been a net negative on both sides of the floor. He should be coming off the bench. Replace him with Mann.

Going small ball frequently has not helped this squad plus it puts them in a deeper hole.

Todays starting lineup was comical. 3 bigs and 2 smalls? It worked for Cleveland because they have length, energy and athleticism along with youth. You put 2 guys recovering from injury in the starting lineup? Ibaka did ok which points to Mook that he should play in the G league to get his groove back once Batum returns.

I really love the bench unit especially when Kennard and Mann are clicking at the same time. Boston should get more minutes to give the squad more of an offensive punch. Keon wasn’t bad. Plus the team can always have more Hart.

My hot take. We will never win a championship. Never ever. We just lost to the Kings when they were on a back to back. Ty Lue’s management of Paul George’s minutes has been grounds for abolishment. It started with that Bulls game but even worse, how the hell do you not learn your lesson from that game and exhaust PG on a doomed Warriors mission when the following game is against a Pels team that has embarrassed you…only to rest PG against the Kings, when the next day is a day off. As soon as I heard I knew for certain we lost. Today was one of those never going to see a championship days.

No one is above criticism on our team. They look like a bunch of guys that showed up at the gym for a pickup game. Not good. We really need some practice time that we’re not going to get, and we’re just going to have to go with who is healthy at that night. It is a bummer since we reached the WCF last year.
Instead of all those turnovers, and too much thinking, just go back to fundamental basketball.
Also, when a player gets deep into the paint, don’t try passing cross court — go hard to the basket, pump fake and draw the foul.

Disheartening as hell (didn’t watch, listened a lil bit). JV going off was a tough pill to swallow in that he basically did the same to us very, very recently so WE WERE ON NOTICE. How bout sending a double every now and again rather than playing the “hope he misses” strategy? Ty? Ty? Are you there?
What Chog says about our team is really on point. Our bigs are back ups and PG is the only league wide starting caliber player. Same with the guards. But you take the best player off any NBA team and you’ll get plenty of crappy play. But when that happens, opportunities are created and guys NEED to step up.

We can play the tired excuse game that Noah Eagle plays so well (back to back, missing players, super hot shooters we’re “powerless” to stop…) but in reality Ty Lue needs to step up here and make some changes. If he doesn’t, we deserve what we’re getting here.

–PGs TOs have to stop. Maybe he’s playing too many minutes and it’s just fatigue, so sit him. It was a big mistake playing him vs. GSW as a few here pointed out.
—Shake up the starting line-up. While I applaud Coffey’s resurgence, he’s not an NBA starter.
–Make a deal? Pretty sure the team is looking at all options.
–Give the rooks considerably more time? Not yet IMHO with the exception of Preston when he finally gets back. I’d like to see him run the offense a lil bit.

Then, of course, we can muse how this team would look complete and healthy. That day may come and that’s why we’re all gonna stick it our with these guys. In the meantime, I’m calling for a players only meeting to air out all the dirty laundry and get guys angry.

The only positive I take away from this game is that it’s recalibrated my expectations for this team. Going into this game, I thought the Pelicans were a team we *should* beat, but at this point I’m not confident enough to say we should expect to beat anyone.

W/o Kawhi we were always not gonna be in the contenders tier (i.e. Warriors, Suns, Bucks, Nets), but the next tier of teams is still super muddy at this point in the season – the Mavs lost to an injury-depleted Cavs team, the Lakers are unpredictable, the Nuggets have an even worse injury situation than us, Ja’s hurt, the Blazers are mediocre, and the T’Wolves lost to us in embarrassing fashion. Basically, yes, I think the Clips have the talent and depth to land the 4 seed even w/ Kawhi, but the gap between the 4 seed and the 10 seed isn’t that big this year. As we’ve seen numerous times already this year, the Clips are gonna need to bring their A game every night to grind out a win – C-level game or worse is probably a loss for us.

On a more specific, less hot-takey note, glad to see Lue continuing to experiment w/ Serge + Hart lineup, but we need to do something about Reggie + Bledsoe already. Even though he’s been struggling even against bench guys, I actually think putting Luke into the starting lineup would help, since he’d be surrounded by more talent and he’d able to play a more complimentary role.

Anyways, onto the next one against the Kings – I’m expecting another nail-biter, but am still hopeful for a win.

When basketball is played properly, it is beautiful — the five players all acting as one. What we saw in last couple of games, no bueno. We can do it. Just go back to the fundamentals. This is really wierd — we have good players, just need to remember the basics.

This is a really good point and Luke is perhaps the worst offender in this regard. WTF doesn’t anyone come toward the lead ball handler? This alone is resulting in numerous turnovers. Once again after all the shuffling at the position we still don’t have a reliable floor general that can draw double teams. Lou could to a degree but that’s it. Bev was three and D and Bled is downhill but not a threat from deep. Rondo was washed up and couldn’t shoot either. We have a really deep roster and two (when healthy) superstar wings. But without that quarterback to set the table we’re going to continue to hemorrhage turnovers while guys are struggling to get to their spots. If we had our draft pick next summer it wouldn’t be a huge deal to have a crappy season. But that’s not the case so we may have to try to work a deal and roll the dice on someone. Too bad Cleveland is good now because Rubio would have been wonderful. I think Dragic might be too old but that’s what they said about CP3 so who knows?
