Something to look forward to.

I’m not worried about Luke yet. I think you’re right about the coaching, and it really does look like he’s still overthinking things out there instead of just playing loose and free.

And no idea on Luke. I also heard (assume it was Dan Craig) a coach yelling at him to body up on JJ so maybe Luke is still finding his way on both ends. This is likely the most and best coaching he’s had since college.

Really glad to see Zu back to being active and doing all the standard big guy things, even if it’s not at the level we saw last year (yet). This is probably the first time all season that I’ve thought he looked like he actually earned his minutes.

MM has me a little concerned. I know he’s still getting adjusted, but the last couple of games he’s had a few possessions where he went full iso-ball and settled for a contested mid-range shot instead of taking advantage of the mismatch and/or keeping the ball moving. It’s kind of jarring to see because I don’t remember him doing this that much under Doc, but I guess maybe he’s still picking up Lue’s sets and until it becomes natural for him he probably instinctively goes back to what he’s done most of his career.

Luke needs to shoot the ball, particularly when Lou’s out. I distinctly heard someone on the Clips yell “SHOOT IT” when he passed up a wide open corner 3 w/ only Adams trying to close the distance. I know until this season he hadn’t played for like a year, but shooting jumpers should be the easiest part of the game (on a related note, I’ve actually been mostly pleased with his ballhandling and passing) for him to pick back up again.

Not an overwhelming win, but that just gives Lue more film to show the guys and point out what needs to be improved.
