Lebron losing in his first game back to an OK team on the road (man you know I hate the purple and gold but the Celts were offered up a hot plate of home cooking from the refs on this one. Wasn’t egregious but it was still noticeable. I’d know that because I was so overconfident in our lead that I was bored and turned to the game that was closer/ classic rivalry) IS NOT THE SAME AS GETTING BLOWN OUT BY THE WORST TEAM IN THE WEST THAT WE IN FACT WERE BLOWING OUT.

We are still feeling the repercussions of Lue’s tight rotations since that Sunday Bulls game. Legs are tired and in some cases just straight up hampered with injury (Mann/Batum) I knew he fucked up but I didn’t know it was this badly. Just goes to show. Long season. Don’t blow the load too early. Flip side of that coin is, we still have time to correct this If that means throwing the next game away and marching out the rooks so our vets can heal properly I’m ok with that. Just wish it was 4 games ago.

If this game had the normal day in between rest, we would have won. Coach should have played more guys, esp. with that 20 pt lead, but coming out slow in the beginning of the 2nd half wasn’t good. If your normal rotation players are gassed by the beginning of the 4th, you have to play more guys. We have to get the next man up mentality back.
Tired legs, don’t want to get into the paint and make that next pass.

I definitely will give ’em some slack for the B2B, but I just took a gander at the box score and there were 2 players’ lines that stood way, way the eff out:
Jackson and Kennard were simply putrid from deep. Haven’t seen such crap shooting in it seems like forever. Were they that tired? No legs? When a coach sees that happening, don’t you make a move???? Give someone else a chance or tell those guys to drive for a change? C’mon man!

They have to go on a massive win streak for me to forget this.

On the horizon, an afternoon game on Sunday against…..the Mavs!!!!

What a shameful loss. We can make excuses about back to back and “hungry talented young Pelicans” but when you’re up by 20 against a lottery bound squad and lose by double digits that’s pathetic. I put this one on TL for not expanding the rotation when they were up 18-20. Boston and Srubb could have squandered that lead as efficiently as Reggie et al did but we wouldn’t have been zombies later on the game to hold on. At least the Lakers were humiliated too.

Worst loss of the season. By far. I don’t care if it’s the 2nd game of a B2B – we were up 20, and the Pelicans are terrible. Guys should be embarrassed after this one.

I’ve tried to withhold judgement early on in the season, but I can’t anymore. This team isn’t good and will need massive roster changes just to make it into the play-ins. This offseason was a huge failure by Frank and the front office.
