This is a little off topic but I think people are undervaluing some of our potential trade pieces at the deadline. This team is not going to compete for a championship this season. I think the FO focus on developing the young guys and look to acquire assets to retool this roster.

With that said, we have pieces that desperate teams (competing this year) want. Desperate teams give the seller way more leverage than they would have under normal circumstances. Here are the desperate teams I think may call the Clips.

NY Knick – Reggie Jackson would be a perfect fit for that team. They desperately need a PG and Reggie fits the bill way better than Kemba Walker. I imagine that the Knicks would give us a 1st Rd pick for Reggie as along as we take back Kemba Walker.

Chicago – Bulls need a PF bad and Marcus Morris fits the bill. I am not sure what Chicago would offer as salary filler for the Clips to take back but the FO could probably to acquire another future 1st rd pick.Bulls are so desperate to make a splash this year in the PO.

Denver – Butt Nuggets need a backup Center and who better than Serge Ibaka. A third team would probably need to get involved in this one since I doubt the Butt Nuggets would send us JM Green for Serge. But perhaps Serge could get us a couple 2nd rd picks.

W/ Kawhi and PG13 unavailable, I will always be in favor of a Canoes game. At this point all I’m looking for is development from the young guys, re-conditioning for Hart, and maybe building up Serge’s trade value a bit.

It’s pretty bad when both LA teams feel that they are the get-right-games for their opponents. Clippers have an excuse to suck.

If this team is gonna suck from the get go, bench Morris and Reggie and start someone else. Perhaps play no one but the young guys. Have the vets get right by sitting out a game or 2 before playing serious minutes. PG and Kawhi put them in this boat and it’s unfair to criticize the vets who are actually playing.

At this point, I don’t really care if this squad makes the play-in tournament. They’re not gonna make any noise during the postseason anyway. Let’s just see what we have with the rookies and G-league squad and treat the rest of the season like a preseason. Mix it up with Mann, Coffey, Hart and Zu.
