Yeah, it feels odd that the top 3 spots went to teams that aren’t really “bad”. Dallas obviously, and SAS and Philly just had injury problems. So that’s 3 teams that really don’t need/deserve a top 3 pick. Such that the balance in the NBA is NOT helped by this (ie Charlotte, Utah, etc continue to get screwed).

Or, maybe this is what the NBA wants. Conspiracy theory (obviously): the NBA tells the Mavs “if you trade Doncic to the Lakers, we’ll gift you the #1 pick” Haha

Was playing around with the NBA trade machine and one thing that stands out is the Clippers have a lot more financial flexibility as compared to prior years. You can work up a lot of different trade scenarios to get coveted targets: John Collins, Devin Booker, Obi Toppin, Darius Garland, Devin Booker, KD…etc. Gotta involve Norm in such trades, but he has an expiring contract and had a great year so he’s very tradeable.

The rumor mill has started. Jamal Christopher who is generally very good at gathering info on the NBA beat has a rumor that a veteran superstar (not named Giannis or KD) is going to make his way to San Antonio. (Christopher called the DeArron Fox move to SAS long before it happened).

Well, vet superstar can be a fairly short list if you use an age threshold, and Kawhi would be on said list.

I think the Clippers would only move Kawhi if they could get Giannis. So maybe a 3 team trade? Food for thought.

Starts to look at draft prospect & saw potential in someone like Nique Clifford & Noah Penda.
Our track record for talented youth development is not that great. But we should have home grown talent on the roster to play and cheer for.
Will expand the focus on talent pool and look forward to the post about the draft in the coming weeks.
Let’s see how it goes.
