Yeah the Preston injury really bummed me out. This team really needs a true point guard and I was eager to see what he could offer at the NBA Level. Hopefully he can make his way to the court soon so we all can see what we got.

The Clippers can get expiring contracts and draft picks for Marcus Morris via a Memphis Grizzlies trade: Grizzlies trade targets for a swing this season (msn.com) Substitute Mook for one of those examples given. Memphis would love Mook just like they loved ZBO. That city loves tough guys who like to throw down.

Agreed with you about Preston.
He has been on the court practing with our coach. (I think it’s from Mirjam or Law Murray’s twitter)
I also can’t wait to see him play.
Hope he gets that chance soon.
Him with Keon in ACC game will be so much fun.

He also has some nice assists in this game and he goes up to the rim while absorbing contact. (His pre-draft analysis has one concern about him always avoiding contact against rim protector) He will become at least a serviceable role player with this development. And we have a lot of nice young guys in ACC: Wright, King, Wallace, Darling. This season is like 2018/19 with exciting young talent. And if we are lucky, maybe we have superstar wings waiting for us when we need them.

If this is a rebuilding year, it would have been nice to see how Jason Preston growth into an NBA point guard. Even with a veteran team, it is pretty cool that the Clippers do have a youth development system.

His awful bricks helped keep us in this game lol. Like I know the league has changed thanks to Steph and Dame, but some of the shots he took were straight up bench-worthy.

Beal is good, but he’s not on the same level as Harden or Lavine imo. He might be more get-able if Washington continues to slump, but I wouldn’t gut the entire team just for him – unless he magically turns into a CP3-type of ball distributor.

Barnes being a “fake tough guy,” lol. Exactly right. Barnes is one of my all-time favorite Clippers. A few years ago I was at Staples with my kids when they were young. My studious younger daughter, who had zero interest in basketball, was actually reading a book in the stands during the game. But she did notice Barnes going nuts and throwing a ridiculous fit. She asked why “that man” down there was acting like that. It was awesome. My brother-in-law ran across Barnes at a water park in NorCal once and said he was the nicest guy.

One particular thing about the one report in question which suggesting PG would be out the rest of the season and the Clips would be sellers, is the suggestion that they’d be looking to generate capspace this summer.

With PG and Kawhi presumably off the table, that’s already $85M of like a $120M cap. Even if they shed everyone except Mann and the rooks, they’d be at best looking at like $30M in capspace? Unless you’re going to convince Harden, Beal, or Lavine to take a paycut, I’m not sure that’s worth it, even if it was possible to get rid of everyone for expiring contracts.
