I think Kawhi sees the Clippers as the last stop in his career. He’s a SoCal/IE kid, played high school ball up the road from me in Riverside and around the corner from my father in law in Moreno Valley. His family is here. He had no intention of being LeBron’s little bro on the Lakers. Ballmer and company will continue to do all they can to help him bring the first Larry to Inglewood. Hopefully more than one.

I don’t know if he wants that. Considering that he left a proven system with the Raptors and chose Clippers over the
Lakers, I believe that he really wanted this challenge – to carry this team to the promise land. I don’t think he is going to give up even if this season is another collapse. I would expect
Kawhi to keep chasing this goal. By choosing the Clippers he has already proven that he is not searching for easy ways. Getting the ring here would be like an ultimate goal. I don’t think there is any better way to solidify his legacy.

Lakes dominated a very weak King’s team last nite, hitting their 3s and doing everything pretty well. Seems that this shorthanded team may be finding something. We gotta be ready for these guys as they are no pushovers.

Sounds to me like you’re saying that since it’s a heavier load for him with this Clips team vs. his other title winning teams, that he is more likely to leave the clips for a stronger team where he could better conserve his energy. Correct?

I’d tried to avoid Denver over Lakers in a playoff matchup tbh. Jokic and Porter Jr improved tremendously. Barton is healthy and looks like Gordon will cover more than what they lost with Jerami Grant’s absense. This Denver team is easily better than last year, however can’t say the same for Lakers.

I am also here because of Kawhi and we know that Playoffs Kawhi is a different animal. Even last year he was spectacular for the Mavs series and very good against Denver until the whole team became to fall apart, and eventually the captain sunk together with the ship.

There is no denying that Kawhi always raises his play come playoffs time, but the last year is nothing but a prove that you cannot just simply switch it on for the playoffs. If the regular season is all practice for Kawhi, the outcome has not been impressive thus far. There is not a single game this season against condenders that he has carried us to a close fourth quarter win.

One thing is to raise your level for the playoffs, the other is to be able to carry a team on your shoulders. He didn’t have to carry that burden on the Spurs and Raptors teams, so it was way easier for him to play his game. Now, it’s yet to be seen if he can be a leader we want him to be – and even Popovich questioned that in the past.

I really hope he can prove he can and if he does, that will be the biggest accomplishment of his already decorated career.
