They were doubling him every time he touched the ball. He was open for corner 3’s a couple times, but his teammates weren’t used to him being there and didn’t give him the ball. Kawhi actively attacked and broke down double teams.

KPJ can’t be traded yet, and I’m not sure if he’s eligible before the deadline. Lucas should do a write up on it, but I doubt anyone wants to take his player option and horrible play.

Guess all I can say is active defensively and shaking off rust? Him slimming down is probably good for his health, but at the same time I worry about having him guard Aaron Gordon, LeBron, Julius Randle, Jaren Jackson, and/or Naz Reid. Which is why I’m on board w/ making a move, but I don’t want a big splash – unless we’re getting Giannis (or the other top contenders have a rash of injuries), I’m still not convinced that this roster is in the same class as OKC, Cleveland, or Boston. PJ and Bones for whichever NBA-level backup PG/PF we can get, but if we’re talking about sending out actual rotation-worthy guys (e.g. Mann), we’d better be getting back somebody good on a reasonable/short deal.

Portland actually worries me because for some reason Ayton always gives Zu fits, and when Zu isn’t on his game this team looks exponentially worse.

So Kwahi clearly isn’t washed. It was incredibly smart of him and trainers for him to slim down at this stage of his career. He’s probably 215–220 tops.

Looks like we have two first ballot HOFers at the end of their primes along with a top 10 center and microwave scorer in Norm. Also great overall depth other than a couple easily tweak-able needs. It would be malpractice to just stand pat and not make another run at the L.O.B.

Portland’s problem now with their youth and depth. Hope we can pull this one out.

Only bummer from tonight was that apparently Mann hurt his calf so that’s why he only played 8 minutes. Hate to see it, but I guess it frees up some minutes between Dunn, Mann, and KPJ – for the record if healthy I’d go w/ splitting the bulk of the minutes between Dunn and Mann. Considering the main rotation guys barely broke a sweat, they should be ready to go tomorrow night in Portland, so hopefully we don’t come out flat.
