One thing noteworthy was how they kept James’ usage low against the Nets so perhaps he goes off for 40 and we don’t get totally wiped out. As much as it pains me it might be better if it’s out of reach by halftime so we have everyone fresh for Monday.

I hate it that we have to walk the plank on this Cavs game but if Cade plays against Minny we have a decent shot at staying ahead of the Wolves. I know this years mantra has been no win no pod but I think there needs to be one on the playoff landscape moving forward. Would be healthy for everyone. If not after this one maybe after the Orlando game.

Memphis losing to the Lakers tonight was the better result for LAC, imho.

Clippers are now 1 game behind Memphis in the loss column and hold the tiebreaker advantage. Memphis may lose as many as 5 or 6 more games and the Clips at most will lose 3 so LAC is quite likely to finish ahead of Mem.

Clips can do themselves a lot of favors by beating Cleveland tomorrow. I’d say, however, that the Minnesota v Detroit game is the more significant one on the schedule. I think Detroit has to win that game to put the Clippers in the driver’s seat for the #6 spot or higher if one assumes that the Clips lose @CLE. If Minn wins and the Clips lose tomorrow, I might give Minn the edge to move up into the 4/5 slot and the Clips will battle it out with GSW for #6.

Kawhi is officially out for tomorrow’s game vs CLE.

Harden was pretty well rested vs BKLYN. I think he can carry us. Norm Powell should also be able to get into some rhythm with Kawhi off the floor. We may get more Bogi as well, so I think we can compete. Will need a good game from Simmons at the backup #5 to make it happen, though.

This is a big dose of reality in terms of having to watch out for TWs. They’re stacked–Ant, Jaden, Randle, Conley and Gobert are an absolute handful. Don’t know who can limit Ant.
Right now the 3 teams battling for the 6 spot (4 if lakes falter more) are pushing in all their chips (cept us if we rest KL on the B2bs). I don’t know where the %forecasts are for us to stay in 6 (or better) but I’m thinkin they mite be 50/50 to drop to play-in. So where does that leave us? Rather than get cute, we gotta preserve our guys, get our rotations where we want them and just go out and ball. And if we do fall to play in, can’t feel sorry for ourselves–look at the teams who are dying to even get into that tourney.

Second biggest takeaway aside from terminator is that Mills isn’t washed. He still has his legs and stroke and could be a break glass difference maker situationally.

Although LAL and MEM look to be in disarray they have a bit more margin for error than LAC. Clips pretty much need to go 8-1 to guarantee the #6 spot and they may end up with better if LAL/MEM/GSW continue stumbling.

The team I would watch out for is Minnesota. They play Detroit at home, kinda own Denver, can probably beat Memphis and play BKLYN twice, Philly, Utah and Milwaukee without Dame. Very possible that they go on a big run and finish 7-1 (49-33). They have that tie break over LAC.

Powell hasn’t really adjusted to his new spot in the pecking order. As much as it sucks for him cos how good he’s been, when we have a full lineup his usage is going to need to come down quite a bit.

Those Dallas games may not be as easy as they were a couple weeks ago. Davis will be back and they’ll be playing even more for their lives than we would be. I’d feel pretty confident we can move up, but the Wolves schedule is so easy and they only have 1 back to back.

Even if the Lakers are paper tigers I still don’t wanna see Luka in the playoffs again. The PTSD from the last couple of series hasn’t faded yet.
