So. I missed this game on account of wildfires. But with 1 bar of service, I’ve gathered that Doc is getting outcoached. Harsh, but not a stretch of the imagination to believe It’s a reality.
Rotation solutions?
This is going to sound crazy, because man, what a regression from last year, but Start Shamet. He’s no backup small forward, a role Doc has forced him into, and a reason why his rhythm/confidence is so off. But at 6’4 he’s at least mildly irritating on defense to a point guard/ clearly starts cold but makes up for it later if alloted the time, and Luca is going to get his regardless so we should at least get someone who is supposed to be a shooter revved.
As far as the bench is concerned Lou should be considered our point guard. Reggie, unfortunately, is not connecting with any assists. 1 in, what was it, 27 minutes??? Yikes. At most he’s our bench 2.
Anyone remember how brilliant PatPat was on the road to the playoffs? He’s someone who can hit a 3 and spread the floor for Trez, who speaking of, needs to be more agressive or he shouldn’t be on the floor at all. 3 of 4? You’re making them. Go, go, go! Try another 5 more Monstrezl

I can totally understand why there weren’t any adjustments. That’s been the theme of Doc’s entire time as our coach. I think we’ve seen enough to know that we’re not winning a championship with him. I’d love to be wrong, but I doubt it.

Zu was not “played off the floor.” He was benched once again because of Doc’s bias. And it went from a 3-point game to a blowout loss without him.

Sadly I don’t trust Doc to figure it out, and to be fair without Bev maybe we just don’t have the guard personnel to stop it. Reggie, Shamet, and Lou might just be the worst defenders in the NBA.

Yeah that’s the really CRAZY part. We were awful defensively in game and and made ZERO adjustments (actually got WORSE). This is vintage Doc.

Would be 0-2 if we didn’t get that fortunate Porzingis exit and Dallas has been outplaying and outcoaching us both games. Looks if I knew Bev was gonna be back healthy I’d have a different viewpoint, but I can’t see how we win 3 more against this team with Reggie and Shamet as our point guards. Those guys just really BLOW. And not to mention Doc blind loyalty to Trez even though he’s getting cooked and hasn’t played basketball in 5 months. Really seems bleak rn.
