Would like to add to that: this time, the starters set the tone from the start. Terrance in particular. But I’ve also been satisfied with Harden’s defense. Zu played big inside and dominated. Sure, we caught a break that Lively is out. Caught another that Luka hurt his hand. But we also played with a sense of urgency, kept the foot on the gas. Lue made some good adjustments, they looked like a team all game. Russ looked like Russ again, more on the ball, efficient off-ball as well, shot quality was way higher (matchup played a role but also the increased movement in the offense and the lineup changes).

1-1 over a back-to-back with Scott Foster and Tony Brothers is perfectly alright (sorry, had to take that shot, Brothers and Mott were pretty awful).

Denver’s gonna be a very different beast. Gotta find some bonus wins here and there now

Energy was definitely better in the first half. Russ as well as the 2nd unit brought the energy. Energy and pace are the keys for this squad. walking it up and pounding the rock causes you to get behind and forces you to expend more energy to come back which is what occurred last night. The energy is much better this evening and it shows.

One line in the article was kinda surprising. In discussing Russ’ assumed low trade value, the writer states that once a team like Chicago has its fire sale, it’ll need to still sell tickets and that such a team mite not mind “losing in style.” Imagine that–guess that’s true. And further, that Russ still has game left in him — just not winning game.
