Yea this year I don’t care who the opponent is because they’re *all* bad matchups for us if the team keeps playing like this. I just want the Clips to be healthy and in a good rhythm when the playoffs start.

Celts made NOLA look human and beatable. They were able to somewhat match Zion’s first step and so prevent walk in the park lay ins. When Z faces resistance he often throws up unbalanced shots. Also saw Porzingis time his jump perfectly to effect the block. Length could work–Zu? DT? (not PJ)
Saw very lil outside shooting from Zion–a relatively one dimensional offensive player. And that team is way more formidable with Ingram. Best to avoid a fully intact NOLA team but Dallas would be pretty much loaded as well.
First round’s gonna be an all out war not matter who we draw.

As for how the Celtics beat N.O, Jaylen Brown did a pretty nice job on Zion, especially at the top of the key and the Cs did enough effective double teaming when Zion got the ball on the sideline to slow him down. The big thing, however, was converting those stops of Zion into buckets at the other end. The other key was that CJ McCollum didn’t have the same offensive impact as the prior game vs Mil. He got buckets late after Boston was up double digits, but up to that point, he wasn’t able to get buckets or generate high percentage shots for his teammates when Zion was bottled up.

As far as the Clips matching up with them, Zu has to be on the floor to deter Zion at the rim, but you need guys with the same center of gravity or lower who can move their feet to tag him at the starting point. Kawhi is going to have to defend him for stretches, but so too do Mann, Russ, Harden. If you move the ball against this team, you can get shots and beat them. Cs did an effective job of getting the switches and match ups they wanted. It would help if PG showed up against them.

Guarding the 3 pt line against guys like Murphy and Jones while generating 3PA volume matters too,

That said, Dallas might end up being our Round 1 opponent…again.

Clips get some help from the Celtics as they beat the Pels by double digits. Clips are now 2 games clear of the Pels in the loss column. If the Clips beat the Hornets tomorrow, they will be 20 games above .500 and 2 full games ahead of the Pels and 2.5 ahead of Dallas. Pels play PHX and ORL next. Dallas has Houston and GSW next. I’d expect both Dallas and N.O. to split their next 2 while the Clips should beat Charlotte and a depleted Sac team. That would put them 3 games clear in the loss column over both teams.
