I can understand Ballmer’s enthusiasm regarding signing No-Show Leonard. In hindsight, it didn’t work out. I’m all for having the cap space. We will have a completely different team in 2 years. Who wouldn’t want to play in LA and the Intuit Dome?

Trade everyone over the age of 28 for whatever picks or young prospects you can and hunker down for a long (proverbial) winter. Ballmer and Frank blew it because they couldn’t be patient and they caved to uncle Dennis. They deserve all the scorn and us fan don’t deserve this ineptitude.

This is a totally silly take, but how much fun would it be to pair Harden with Steph just for the novelty? They would be the “Tsunami Brothers.” Terrible defense but damn near impossible to defend. Even though they are both old they must be double teamed so it would just be entertaining to watch that circus. Neither team is going anywhere anyway so why not have some fun?

I know the FO is trying to enter into 2027/2028 season with maximum cap space. I think that they should pivot somewhat from that approach.

At the end of this season, there will be some young free agents available that are two way players. I think in today’s NBA, all you need is one superstar surrounded by two way players.

Here are some FA’s that the Clips should be looking at in the offseason if they trade Kawhi, Harden & Zu:

2. Benedict Mathurin
3. Tari Eason
4. Jeremy Sochan

Given the constraints of new CBA, the guys on this list will be around $15 to $25 million per year. You can add 3 of these 4 players next offseason and still maintain 1 max player slot for the 2027 offseason. In other words, start building around the edges now with young athletic talent entering their prime before go for the big fish.

I think there are viable Trading Partners for the Big 3 this year. I could see Zu and Indy being a good match. I could see a Harden and Houston reunion. And I could see Kawhi finishing out the remainder of his contract in South Beach provided he comes back from injury and starts ballin again.

This franchise blew it w/ the SGA trade and now our owner continues to employ a horrendous coach and a feckless, moronic GM. No one wants to hear this, but it’s going to be the mid-30s before this franchise has another shot at competing and that’s being optimistic.
