The Clippers could have fed Zu all night long. The Magic had no answer for him. So why isn’t Zu getting the ball when clearly he has the advantage?

Amir Coffey, in my opinion, is the team’s best 3-point shooter. He is what Luke Kennard was supposed to be. When I watch him shoot, I always feel like it’s a make. Amir should get 5 to 7 3s per game. Doing so would make Leonard’s and George’s life easier.

Orlando stayed in the game because of Clipper turnovers and the Magic passing the ball. If the Clippers crisply passed the ball like the Magic did, they would be in 1st place.

The Clippers play so much ISO due to George. George is an ISO player. He doesn’t play within a system. He is so predictable. He telegraphs that he is not going to pass the ball.

Hopefully, we have seen the last of Tucker. One can only hope.

The only good thing I can say about Ty Lue tonight is that it was a welcome sight to see him have Zu in for the last 7 mins of the game. Zu really needs to be respected as an essential piece. We’re not getting past any of the good teams without him anchoring the defense and finishing at the rim.

However, Harden was John Wall level bad tonight and he had a much better option with Russ, who had helped dig the team out of a blown lead to re-establish an 8 pt lead at the end of Q3. Norm was also kinda mid to bad today and both Coffey and Mann had displayed solid play in their brief stints and should’ve been on the floor in Q4.

I’ll have more confidence in Lue when he’s willing to take a Harden, PG or even Norm out and put in and trust guys like Mann/Russ/Coffey to play Q4/crunch time minutes. You don’t need all of the big 3 on the floor all the time.

I don’t get the purpose of the Harden-Russ lineups. It makes no sense at all. If Russ is on, you play with his pace, not with Harden walking the ball up the floor. Mann/Coffey are much better fits with Russ. Lue has to step up. What we’re seeing from him is nowhere near good enough to win the chip.
