I think we can get away with a little bully ball in the post with cousins which will be fun and could be a helpful dynamic against certain teams in certain moments even if it’s just limited moments.
Hell boban is as situational as they come and he gave Trez and our teams fits last year in the bubble, as did mason plumlee who’s definitly a different player then boban.
Cousins has some size out I think it’s more his big body and passing that adds a different dynamic then what we already possess with Zu and serge.
Third string insurance we could of done worse.

Lastly everybody was interested in a 3/4
Anybody think harkless gets bought out from sucktown and would you guys want him over Coffey for the last roster spot?

I “ want “ to think that with cousins injuries/past bad rumors/distractions/ and all the teams he’s been on since leaving New Orleans has to have an affect on his mindset on what he’s going to do coming here. I mean he’s pretty much on Dwight level as Dwight got a non guaranteed contract with the lakers and it seemed he finally fully bought into just doing the minimal things asked of him and he exceeded expectations and truely helped the lakers get there championship.
Cousins is ……
1. Willing to take on the 3rd string center duties
2. Sign a ten day contract
With the intent he plays well enough to get fully guaranteed for the rest of season and playoffs.
YOU almost have to be completely humble and selfless to be ok with these two things.
It’s not like Marc gasol and what the lakers are going through where gasol took a pay cut to be able to be the starting center of a contender and actually play.
This is totally different, cousins knows what time it is.
Also I feel a “hell” of a lot better with our coaching staff and player support system with how batum
Ending out working out pretty fucking well, then doc rivers getting much out of so-called washed players/ex superstars/stars.
I think doc as a players coach was too scared of confrontation with guys like grant hill peirce
And even guys like Trez and Lou (in the playoffs) to ‘not play them/ pretty much tell em there washed and sit them, as opposed to TY who’s been on record telling superstars like LeBron they are not doing enough/playing lousy!
Ty’s approach is more blunt and honest imo, which creates less drama and wondering from players of how there values, roles.
Where as doc seemed to sugar coat and stroke the egos of players and possibly throw blame at other players who were not responsible for it.
Dudley who I hate, big baby, I wanna say grant hill, Matt Barnes and then the whole preferential treatment shit of last year with Bev Trez Lou or whoever it was that aired out all the laundry from inside the locker room.
I do think we are lucky to have ty instead of doc
And I think ty will do way better with the personalities of our existing team plus rondo and cousins for the time being.

Yeah I think it probably won’t be a huge upgrade, but the Clippers could use Cousins’ size and rebounding more than Patterson’s low-volume shooting.

Depends if ur in the minority that thinks Lou gone is addition by attraction? Gives Mann more minutes, could be better chemistry wise especially defensively for Mann to get more minutes then Lou being on the team, possibly makes Mann’s value higher if needed to be included in a trade, we get the extra salary of rondo next year without the headaches of extending Lou and hoping he’s ok with a trade? Also gives the same opportunity to Luke that Mann kinda getting, more minutes for possible better team fit, make his value go up a bit I think it was a decent trade, not bad and not great but that is still up for debate depending how the rest of the year goes and playoffs. Lastly rondo at the very least will help the growth and mindset of Mann and maybe even teach some wisdom to Bev even though Bev is already an old dog! Rondo also seems to be excited to possibly get some minutes with Bev he’s been quoted. Maybe even in Those limited/minutes that chemistry helps out in ways we can’t imagine now

Yeah they wanted rondo for this year for sure but it helps both ways. I think the FO knew Lou was a sensitive subject imo maybe they already knew because of his “ my last stop in the nba thing”
It seemed pretty clear to me after the luke acquisition that the writing on the wall was there for Lou , I think that’s why he seemed kinda out of it from
The start this year . Either way clippers prolly had to feel that they needed to gamble on rondo for Lou and to be honest I’m sure as hell kawhi was down with it and wanted rondo as well. This is all next years talk though… let’s keep focus on this season, sorry for the distraction fellas.

This is a good point. In the end of the day I’d still much rather have Rondo, even if it means he stinks and is riding the bench, than have Lou for more money. I love Lou, but I still think he doesn’t add anything to this team. While the additional salary gives us more flexibility in a big trade past this season, I can’t picture Lou being benched. If he’s on the roster, he’s likely playing.

I was hopeful after the trade that rondo could add value to the team and I still think he could after watching him play. Hopefully, he get’s more reps in before the playoffs. It’s okay for him to be rusty now, but if he’s going to have this many turnovers in the playoffs, he shouldn’t see the floor.

What Lue said about Rondo: “A little rusty. Had a couple of turnovers early on. But you can just tell, his pace brings a different something to our team. And offensively, when he gets an outlet close to half court, before the first pass is made, that generates pace for us, and we need that.”

I feel like Patterson to Cousins is going to be a wash. I guess Cousins gives you more size should the matchup dictate it, but regardless of how “bad” Patterson has been shooting it this year, he’s still a far more efficient shooter than Cousins. Patterson is fraction of percentage points worse shooting from 3 this year than last year, the only problem with him is he’s more of a streaky shooter, and will have games like this where he doesn’t hit much. At least he knows his role and only pretty much takes open corner 3’s. Not sure what Cousins is going to do. Like I said at least Cousins is big, but hopefully neither of them are playing when (if?) everyone is healthy.
