Ballmer is a nerd with good intentions who’s been exploited on many fronts. He’s no dummy so hopefully he’s learned his lesson. Zu is great and some actual contender should covet him. Perhaps not this year but maybe this summer. He deserves better than this. So does James but I think his salary makes him cost prohibitive.

When he took control of the Clippers, I remember him saying something about never having a “down year.” Now he has discovered that all NBA teams undergo rebuilds. It’s good that they will start having cap space next year and the next. That’s a start.

Ballmer, probably in his enthusiasm to sign a “super star,” gave the OK on the No Show Leonard trade. I can understand it, but that enthusiasm caused the Clippers to get fleeced. I hope that Ballmer has learned his lesson.

One of my favorite Clippers teams was the 42-40 team. Played hard. Fun. Determined. No big names. Lou Williams was the “star.” The Clippers should quickly make the pivot by using the young guys. Time to make lemonade out of sour lemons.

Some teams will want No Show. I would keep Harden for the remaining season unless some great deal presents itself.

Was Kobe Sanders a point guard in college? I think he was. If so, start playing him as the 2nd unit point alongside Cam. See what happens. If it works, great. If not, so what? This year is lost anyway.

I read complaints about Zu. I see Zu trying to cover for the failings of others. Zu seems to play his best when No Show doesn’t play.

Lue must be let go. He is uninspiring. The cloud of gambling impropriety hovers over his head, just like the Aspiration odor is all around Leonard. Time to clean house.

I will continue to stay up late (I live in Florida) to watch games. I’m more interested in watching the young guys and Harden.

I hope the Clippers don’t use their upcoming cap space on building a “super team.”

My message to Ballmer is “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

Cam has one of the most gorgeous shot mechanics one could see, yet they have him scrambling all over the place trying to prove that he belongs out there rather than setting him up as a Desmond Bane or Trey Murphy. This puts him in a position to struggle rather than blossom at what he’s gifted at and could eventually ruin him. “Like I said, like I said.”

So sick of this. Glad to see Kobe Brown taking matters into his own hands when he has the opportunity.

He’s still an elite scorer who can get his own shot. Neither Detroit nor Cleveland have that player at the forward spot. He just can’t play defense in today’s NBA, and his decision making on passing situations is average. On either of those teams, he wouldn’t have to work so hard on the defensive end of the floor.

An all California trade idea: LAC-GSW-SAC

GSW: Gets Kawhi and Dunn
LAC: gets Zach Lavine, Trayce Jackson Davis, GSW’s ’26 Round 1 pick; Sac’s ’27 Round 1 pick; Sac’s ’27 Round 2 pick
SAC: gets Kuminga, Moses Moody, Al Horford, Buddy Hield and Quinten Post.

This trade couldn’t be done until Jan 1 and Sac would have to waive 4 players but it otherwise works.

For GSW, they get their best shot to optimize their window with Steph. Dunn next to Steph with Draymond also on the court is the ultimate defensive protection for Steph. The GSW offensive system will level up Dunn’s offensive game (and he’s not bad 1 v 1). GSW will part with a pick to address the holes in their roster.

LAC gets rid of Kawhi, gets a younger shooting guard w/top level talent, and the picks, picks, picks!!!!

Sac gets the young gun in Kuminga and very serviceable role players on expiring or short contracts.

Actually, I think just getting Zach at SG next to Harden (assuming he isn’t traded) with Zu at center would remarkably improve the offense and we’d probably make the play in.

Now, Cleveland would be a great fit for Kawhi, but there’s basically no mathematical way to get him there b/c CLE is a 2nd apron team and is hard capped. They basically can only trade a 50M player for a 50M player and CLE has no one who makes as much as Kawhi and would be expendable.

However, Detroit does work and they would be a good fit for Kawhi. All he has to do on that team is score, which we know he can do. The young guns and Cade can do everything else needed on a basketball court.

A 3 team trade with Philadelphia (as of Dec 15) would have Detroit getting Kawhi; Philly getting Tobias Harris, Caris LeVert and Kobe Brown and the Clippers getting (gulp!) Paul George and Johni Broome…but wait for it Detroit’s 1st Round ’26 pick, Philly’s 1st Round ’27 pick and the swap rights back on the LAC ’29 first round pick (which was agreed to on the Harden trade) + Detroit’s 2nd round ’27 pick.

Now, everyone will clown us for getting PG back, but we unload Kawhi and we get 2 firsts a second, and unfettered rights on our own ’29 pick.

It’s a fair trade b/c we have to eat s**t on PG’s contract for 2 years, and we get draft capital for the ’26 and ’27 drafts, while Detroit gets their shot to make the ECF or win the East. We all know what Kawhi is able to produce offensively. Detroit does not have that player on their roster.

Philly gets out from under PG’s contract; they get 2 expiring contracts and LeVert whose contract expires the following year and doesn’t cost that much (14M).

As good as OKC has been, I think they won that game because of the refs.

Minnesota and LAC could work a trade (on Dec 15) where they get Harden + Kobe Brown + Telfort or Jordan Miller, LAC gets Randle, Dillingham, Terance Shannon (or some other player w/a similar salary like a Leonard Miller) and 2 second round picks (’26 and ’28). LAC would get the picks because they’re taking on Randle’s 3 year contract obligation.

Minnesota is a bit loaded at the PF position as they can slot Naz Reid into that role. They’d have really good spacing and athleticism and a point guard who is a system and can make Ant more successful. He might even make Rudy passable offensively. If it’s a win now mode, that would be a good move for the Wolves. They’d have a more balanced lineup.

For LAC, they get a hard working, physical PF with a full complement of offensive skills. They also get Dillingham, an interesting young player and PG and another younger talent like Shannon or Miller) + the draft capital.
