honestly, what i would prefer to happen is that the lakers matchup against the nuggets, eliminate them, and then we go against the lakers. I have always thought and will continue to say that the lakers had one of the luckiest championship runs of all time last year. If we hadnt choked against the nuggets, we would have taken them, and if we get them in the playoffs this year, the same thing will happen.

Spoke to a good friend tonight who loves the league like we do. He was In total denial about the Lakers being a non factor. Was convinced that Lebron is faking his injury and that they will rise out of the 30th seed to win it all. It’s just crazy how folks throw in with this type of thing. There’s really nothing standing in our way to the finals now other than ourselves. I’m not going to speculate on how we fare against the Nets or Philly but we really should get to the big dance.

I think Trez had a bad attitude with the Clips and was overused by Doc, but as a basketball player, I still like his game. Definitely weird he gets a DNP-CD with the Lakers, especially when offense is at a premium with no Lebron or Schroder. Maybe just a matchup thing with Portland having two big offensive centers where hiding Trez on defense would be difficult.

If anything Trez is having a more efficient year this year than he did with the Clips. He’s still a bit of blackhole on offense, and really should focus on the P&R and less on those baseline isolations. But I think for a bench player, he still has a lot of utility.

It was me. Only one team has won it all from the 4th seed (trailblazers with Bill Walton 1977). The only other exception is the 1995 Rockets out of the 6 seed but they had weird circumstances that led to their crappy record and we’re defending champs and had a healthy Hakeem and Clyde Drexler in their primes. ALL other champs were 1–3 seeds. Who knows WTF this means today but I feel a lot better at the 3 than the 4. FYI the 3 has won one more time than the 2 which is also random and weird.

Funny thing to me, Caruso’s comp as a basketball player, is probably Patrick Beverley. Scrappy defensive minded guard, become very good shooters, maybe not your traditional playmaking point guard but still very effective players. I obviously still give PatBev the edge defensively, but it does feel like it has been 6 months since I’ve seen PatBev play basketball.

Almost do want to ask the question because to me it doesn’t really matter but, I remember somebody here saying the % of winning it all as the 4th seed was pretty low, is the % of winning as a 3 seed that much better?
