Rest everyone against Denver and take the L. Play whoever is necessary to beat the Jazz. Bring whatever we got against the Cavs and hopefully we are in a position with or without Kawhi to secure no less than 5 after the Suns double tilt. I will be over the moon if we can get Phoenix in the first round with or without home court. It will be a fantastic series and offer a modicum of closure if we can win. They are worse than we are. Possibly even without Kawhi.

This scenario is becoming increasingly possible.

This whole culture of picking and choosing which games “really matter” is just another excuse that protects everyone from scrutiny and accountability. It’s also absurd when they’ve choked so many times in the games that matter most.

I don’t want a team full of players who don’t respect the game or, by extension, their fans.

Seriously though, if this is a serious injury and not just the Clips being cautious we’re not getting outta round 1 – hell we probably fall into and then lose in the play-in.

Ty has said “the players know what they need to do”. So does that indicate that he thinks he IS making adjustments, but that the players don’t execute them? If so, then he should recognize THAT fact and respond to it. I hate to tell you your job Ty, but THAT’S YOUR JOB.

This concept of “what are we playing for?” is the biggest problem I’ve had w/ the 213 era – it sounds like an oversimplification, but you PLAY TO WIN THE GAME. Regardless of who your opponent is, and regardless of the situation. Like I’m not advocating for guys to rush back too soon from injuries or anything like that, but if you’re in the game you should never just throw your hands up and be fine w/ losing as a professional. For most of this entire 213 era it’s felt like this team has had this non-chalant attitude towards every regular season, and when they lose they just act like they’re too cool to get emotional/upset by it. You can act like that if you’ve actually won championships before (e.g. Denver isn’t gonna freak out if they aren’t the #1 seed, the Shaq/Kobe Lakers routinely flipped the switch for the postseason, etc.), but the team having this attitude when they haven’t actually accomplished anything is pretty irritating for me to see as a fan.

It’s fine (not ideal, but mostly harmless) for us fans to think “the regular season doesn’t matter,” but when the *players/coaches* think/play that way it’s not surprising the team routinely gets outworked/out-hustled/out-coached.

PG13 opts in to his 48 mil player option and is traded to Utah for John Collins and Colin Sexton. We get younger and Utah gets out of paying $ to Sexton and Collins thru 2025-2026

Russ is told that he won’t be playing much next year (PJ Tucker treatment likely)
Trade Norm + PJ for Tyler Herro. We get a new SG and Miami gets off of Herro’s contract

Now this team wouldn’t be championship caliber but would probably be entertaining and fighting for the 6 to 10 playoff seed. Defense in the back court could be suspect with Herro and Sexton but at least we have more shot creation.
