What’s the story with Kawhi? He was playing on the second night of a back to back, got hit in the face, and then had a leg (ankle?) issue?

Our max player gets paid to play, and id like to remind you, load managing kawhi isn’t really a strategy. We’ve already seen us load manage kawhi only for him to get hurt anyway.

You do realize that teams lose games. This is more of a function of having so many games in a short span of time. Not every loss needs a post mortem.

I blame the loss mainly on the Kings 60% shooting (even higher in the 1st half). Now some of that was defensive issues, like not finding 3-point shooters. But even wide open, you expect the Kings to miss SOME of them. And Derozan was hitting unbelievable shots. The Kings never “reverted to the norm”.

Also, 50/50 balls not going the Clippers’ way. Several times, they’d be in a position for offensive rebounds, but would simply tap it (not grab it) and the Kings would collect it. So, positioned to dominate the boards; but not achieving it.

It was really the worst case scenario for Math and Jordan–just foul baiting at its worst with very lil to show for it. Throwing up garbage, flailing your hands and the refs not biting, for this game at least. We need to be at least competent with Kawhi out — we weren’t vs. the well rested Kings.

I was on the road yesterday, and I forgot to record the game. I had checked in on the score and saw that the Clippers were down in the second quarter, but didn’t get back until seeing the final score and the loss.

What happened? How bad was it? From checking in here, it sounds like the wheels really came off, and the good vibes somehow evaporated like a thin morning mist. The Clips were probably overdue for a significant miscue game, but it seems like the effects here could be more far-reaching. Part of the problem is that this was meant to be a fine-tuning win, possibly getting Collins back and tracking his return to the high level he had achieved, before facing off in a significant test against SAS, checking on the Clippers competitive level and putting their first half/second half recent defeat against the Spurs in better, more realistic perspective. Now that seems to be out the window, and the Clips will be facing adversity, trying to regroup and return to stability.

There were some good things: they got their hands on a lot of passes. Steals, disruptions,etc. This usually leads to … getting more shot attempts than the opponent. But with Sacto just being ridiculously hot all night, it didn’t translate.

Lopez was just awful. He complains on every play. Including one in which he went over to the ref while the ball was still in play which led to an easy basket for the Kings.

First game I took my wife to this season, and I was embarrassed.

Clippers should be very dispassionate, pragmatic and realistic about the remainder of the season. They are most likely to finish where they are at the #8, and could slip to the #9 if Kawhi misses 10 games. The only thing they should be doing is getting Kawhi and Garland ready for the play in tournament.

They made a mistake last season going for the #6 seed when taking the #7 seed path would’ve probably put them in the conference finals.

Lue made a mess of things tonight with both Kawhi and Garland tweaking leg injuries. Should not have even played Kawhi tonight.
