Judging by Vegas odds, it would appear that Houston is going to send in the clowns against the nuggets tomorrow. This may end up biting them in game 1 if their starters don’t play together for two weeks. We could steal home court.

I needed 24 hours to calm down. This would be the biggest win in clippers history if they can pull it out. Even better than game 6 vs the Jazz. Having said that my expectations are sober and I give the warriors a 60-40 chance of winning:-(. Even so, once we beat Memphis Tuesday and get past that I think everyone will be able to settle into positive vibes and appreciate what a great season this has been. A lot of folks think we can present problems for the Rockets so who knows?

But winning 50 games and the 5 seed would be such a “fuck you” on so many fronts it will be a serious bummer to lose tomorrow.

One wild thought. If the Rockets would rather face the warriors than us in the first round they may dress their A listers and take out Denver. I don’t know the exact implications of it all but when us, warriors, Nuggets and wolves were all tied the other day we were in the 4 seed. Perhaps with the wolves out of that tie breaker we have the edge over the warriors. I guess we’ll see how it all shakes out.

The argument is not sound…. risking the play-in is a bad idea as if we don’t have data from past play-in games. All I took away from the post is the west is tough. Oh well.

Your arguments are sound, but going into the Play-In Tournament is just dangerous.

My wife thinks that our current team will win that Play-In game, no problem.

Have to break from the wife’s confidence in our squad. Too many heartbreaks as a Clippers fan.

I hate to say it, but just looking at the path to the finals/championship, I think the play in might be the better option. Lue probably isn’t going to tank the game by resting players but Scott Foster and the league refs want that GSW v LAL script so I expect we won’t get any benefit of the doubt and Draymond will have a green light to pile drive those moving screens like he’s clearing snow in Montana in the winter.

If LAC wins tomorrow, they’re either playing Denver or, if Denver loses, then Minnesota (assuming they don’t flop vs Utah).

After that, we’d be playing OKC in round 2. Conference finals bracket would probably be LAL v HOU winner (though GSW may elevate in postseason if Playoff Jimmy shows up).

On this track: we’d have to get through 2 MVPs (SGA/Joker) just to get to the conference finals, or go through Minnesota (Ant is MVP worthy and a bad matchup for us) + SGA. That’s as tough a path as we had in 2015 when we beat the defending champion Spurs (an all time great team) and then lost to Harden’s Rockets in 7 (3-1/Game 6/Doc choke + CP3 hamstring injury). Had we gotten through Houston we would’ve had to face the prime Warriors.

If we end up in the play in, we should be able to beat Memphis at home and then play Houston. Houston has had a great year and their athleticism is a problem for us, but there are no superstars or MVPs on that team. We have 2 stars and we have Zubac, the best two way center in the game this year. We should win that series.

Then we’re in the 2nd round against the LAL v GSW. We can beat either of those 2 teams with Kawhi playing at the level we’ve been seeing of late.

Then it’s the conference finals against OKC/DEN/MIN. We can handle 1 tough match up with 2 playoff series and 1 play in under our belt. You pay Kawhi Leonard to get you through series like that one.

There’s just less wear and tear and better match ups as the #7 seed, but of course the big risk that a 1 game playoff scenario creates.
