Without Zu, Harden & the new guys, I would love to get a win in any shape or form.
Sanders has bad shooting night but with 5reb, 3ast & 2blocks, he find the way to help the team. And Miller make a clutch basket for us. They will learn from it and get better. That’s why they need to play.
All vets starters are doing well. But game like this are the reason why we need to get Collins. Sometimes you need sheer force, skill and physicality to drag you over the finish line. We need these kind of player for a while and we have one now. Hope I-Jax is fully healthy and become another energy/hustle big for us.
I feels like this might be Kawhi’s last ride with us.
Hope we are considerably healthy and go on the fun ride. Let’s see.

The Miller comments concern me. The same thing happened last season; he started out great and then opponents adjusted to him and his effectiveness plummeted.

I don’t see this quite as negatively. What you’re describing is what I expected to see manifest on the court tonight and us getting blown out. But Kawhi and everyone else were at least spirited and playing with verve. I’m going to give this a week or so after the Allstar break to pass judgement. Not having anyone—even a Journeyman—at center is pretty scary though. Maybe someone becomes available at the buyout? Even a Nurkic would be helpful.

As for the young players: YKN left due to illness. Kobe Sanders struggled. Miller got some buckets, but teams are adjusting to him. He’s been losing possession or turning it over in the paint as everyone comes after him now b/c he has a midrange/paint game. He’s already 26 years old, so he really needs to make a big leap the rest of this year and this offseason. People are getting aggressive with him in the midrange area and he’s going to have to get a bit stronger and also use his strong footwork to take and make more 3s to open up space the way that Brunson does.

Just saw a clip of Kawhi’s postgame comments. He seems really floored by the Zu trade. One gets the sense that he thought the team could still be good with Garland in place of Harden if everything else held steady. But after trading Zu, he knows it’s over. He’s always someone who stays in the present, but one can tell he knows it’s over after this season and he’s probably going to have to look elsewhere.

If Sac really tried, they could’ve won this game. DeRozan/Russ/LaVine were invisible. Monk was used sparingly, but whenever he took control, Sac immediately gained ground. Kings have the worst record in the league and have a shot at the overall #1 pick. They were obligated to tank and they obliged.

I’d like to say ‘thank you’, but honestly, LAC is the 11th worst team in the league by win/loss record. They really should tank in order to get enough lottery balls to compete with Indiana and bump them out of the top 4. Indiana lost tonight and has the 2nd worst record in the league. They are very unlikely to play Zu much at all, because they’d actually win games if they did.

No harden–changes the dynamic doesnt it—rebuild watching–new for me
Kawhi—man amongst boyz
Collins—glad we have him
Dunn—rose to the occasion
Sanders–shrank in the moment; very shaky/liability with the ball in traffic; bring on Mathurin quickly
Jordan—lots of talent —will help us win some
DJJ–very entertaing player
YKN–gets faked out too easily; needs to not take the fake–Van Gundy?
Brook–doesn’t take fakes cuz he can’t jump; was lucky Sabonis didn’t play; did hit 2 very useful 3s; so I’ll back off him for a few
Cam–use him more; he could supplant Sanders — give him the chance

Get the new guys mixed in and we mite have something but center is now a huge effing hole–buy out guy? Roster spot?
