Celtics game

1st off reb came late in the 3rd on a drive by Tatum.. Zu contested, Batum & Kawhi came in to help on the board but Williams length allowed him to tip in the miss.. He kept rolling with Tatum & got himself in position.. Batum & Kawhi got him under the basket, but again, his length was enough to get the tip

2nd off reb came from a Williams drive & miss due to Zu’s contest.. Kawhi came crashing down from behind but the extra bounce on the rim allowed Williams to get his own reb.. He was fouled & later resulted in a Tatum 3.. Kawhi was there but the extra bounce, mistimed jump, cost him the rebound

The 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th off reb all came in the same possession.. The 1st was a result of a long reb.. The 2nd was a tipped out ball from either Zu or Thompson, with Batum fighting for it also.. It wound up in a Celtics player.. The 3rd came with Batum having it taken off his fingertips by a flying Tatum dunk attempt.. That miss resulted in another long reb.. Thankfully Tatums 3 rimmed out & Thompson tipped out the ball from Zu.. The effort was there, just couldn’t get a bounce to go their way

The effort was there on all & the offensive rebounds given up while Zu was on the floor.. Another good job as a whole rebounding

Kings game

1st off reb given up, was a result of a long rebound.. Morris & Zu were in position but didn’t make much of an effort to try & tip it out.. Meanwhile, Lou didn’t box out & it was his man who got the tip out that resulted in a 3.. Would’ve liked to see more effort out of the 2 bigs to try & tip it, considering neither was gonna be able to grab it but can’t be too mad.. Lou not boxing out was the bigger “issue” but even then, those longer rebounds are always trickier

2nd off reb was just a case of Zu & Mann both going for it & it popping into Holmes hands.. Communication was the only thing at fault here but not a big deal.. It resulted in a Holmes 5 footer though after the ball got swung back around

3rd off reb came from a zone.. Morris was boxing out Whiteside & actually tipped it back out but it ended up in Guys hands & he touched passed it out for a 3

4th off reb came off the Fox drive where he practically took out Zu & Kawhi.. Morris rushed in after the miss from the corner but the ball fell right to Fox for the put back.. One of those where the person shooting is the 1st to react.. Not much anyone could do

5th off reb came off a Fox drive where Morris stepped up to contest.. Barnes crashed the board & got the tip in over Zu.. Zu didn’t box him out & tried swiping at it but failed.. Still kinda hard to pin that on Zu but considering he was the lone person in the paint, since Morris contested, he could’ve done a better job since his man wasn’t close

Of the 5 offensive rebounds given up while Zu was on the floor, only the last 1 & perhaps most crucial, was bad & caused by a lack & effort/boxing out.. The problem with those 5 offensive rebounds is that they all resulted in points, 12 points to be exact & 2 came late in the game when every possession mattered.. There def wasn’t a lack of effort from all the players since they all contributed, Morris included

Obviously not as many, but I think it’d help out Kawhi some also.. As for Lou, it’d give him more space & options.. Serge can still roll with him, he doesn’t nor should he pop out all the time.. It gives defenses a different look & something else to prepare for.. & yes, Lou isn’t a great finisher but he’s super fuckin savvy & would get more free throws even when he can’t score.. I honestly feel like everyone would benefit from it.. Zu may lose a few more looks but Kawhi would get better looks as a result, & as we know, Zu would be in position to rebound & put away the misses.. + they gotta do something to get more out of Serge offensively & it’ll diminish the amount of post ups as well

Might hurt both to separate them. Lou gets downhill but obviously he isn’t an athletic finisher at the rim so I think he sort of needs that outlet in the lane who can finish in traffic

Haven’t re watched any of the previous 4 games so I don’t know what or where Morris is at during defensive rebounds but I don’t think he’s doing a bad job there on 1st watch.. When he crashes the glass, is out on the perimeter alot, he helps either securing the rebound or boxes out to help Zu or someone else grab it.. I could be wrong though lol.. I’d still like for him to crash the glass harder though, the way Bev & Mann do.. Overall, Zu’s demeanor & energy has been up considerably & his play has shown.. He’s back to playing BIG & dominating the paint & a big reason why he’s rebounding ALOT better.. He def didn’t take the benching well but has gotten over it & has been great to see..

Now, with the lack of penetration, do you think it’d be good to split some of Lou’s min with Serge? Have him pop out to create more space for Lou to get downhill? The whole thought process with starting Serge was his ability to pop out to the 3 point line but he’s not getting many shots from there & Kawhi seems to be getting to the rim even less.. + We all saw how well he & Zu played last year.. I just feel by doing this, you’d give Lou even more space to be a playmaker.. & this goes for whenever PG & Bev come back also

We need a real coach!” comments. They’re there after every loss, and even after some close wins.

Kennard is here now and I support him. I am hoping he gets better with his play. Just leave it at that.
