I disagree. Off course , i don’t expect Zu to shoot 4-5 threes every game, but to be able to knock it down when left alone at the 3pt line. He’s half of the time there anyway setting screens for others. Also to change the narrative “he doesn’t shoot threes , he’s an old school center” and get him back in starting 5, main reason given for him losing starting spot is that Ibaka shoots 3’s and opens up the paint for others.With Zu shooting threes on good percentage that would be a non-issue. He’ll still have his share of offensive rebounds, he would just expand his offensive repertoire

Nope. I think this is a classic “both teams say no” trade.

It’s probably good value to get 26 year old Payton and 29 year old Bullock for 34 year old Williams. But in reality, if we’re playing like our championship window is now, I think this trade sends out a guy who is a part of our playoff rotation for two guys who won’t be. Bullock is a far better depth wing than anything we’ve got, but that’s depth–if one of PG/Kawhi/Luke/Morris/Batum goes down, Bullock would be massively important to our playoff rotation. But without that, he’s gonna ride the pine in the playoffs. And I’m not sure that Payton would play ahead of Reggie Jackson when it came to backup PG minutes in the playoffs.

The ball movement under Doc was night and day compared to VDN. The ball movement under Ty has been almost as radical of a jump, and it’s been a pleasure to watch.

Would you trade Lou and Fi (+picks) for Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock?

I don’t think Elfrid Payton is the defender he was billed to be in the draft, but not a negative defender. Reggie is okay depth at the SF spot.

This would depend on the Knicks going in the toilet at some point (right now at .500 and in the playoff hunt), but you have to expect that right?
