Hartenstein definitely still looks like he has a strong lead on the 3rd center spot. Just amazing that Giles was once viewed as like the best player in his class. To my eye, I just don’t see enough flashes rotation level play from Giles. Would love to see Giles get more run and more plays called his way, just to really get a better evaluation of his talent. But that’s really not going to be his role on this team, and in his more limited opportunities, he has yet to stand out.

Keon looks the same from summer league which just isn’t good. Boston was solid and hit some shots down the stretch, but for the majority of the game he was not hitting those mid-range shots. I was high on King after a great shooting night the first game. Can’t take too much away from missing 2 shots in this one, but I guess it’s not as good as making 2 shots. Thought outside of those shots not going in, he still looked solid with a few assists and rebounds though.

Really sucks to hear about Preston. Hurts extra that even any type of DPE wouldn’t even open up a roster spot which is really what the Clippers need at this point. Would be nice if they could like move Preston to the 2-way spot and bring back Yogi as like a 3rd string PG, but I don’t even think that’s possible. I guess they could still bring in a young PG instead of Coffey. Jordan Ford shot the ball well with the summer league team, and at least would have some familiarity with the club, so might be something to consider. But with guys like PG/Mann/Kennard/Batum being solid playmakers, I really don’t think there is a need for a 3rd string PG.
