I’d 1000% rather play Phoenix than Memphis.

Some of them may not work out, but those who stick around help buid the culture for us.
We create the environment that enable us to revive the career for the likes of Reggie, Batum, RoCo or even PG himself to comeback from the bubble collapse.
We are in the good time now, let’s enjoy it. 😊

And yea, going small against Phoenix doesn’t really work as well because Ayton is *much* more polished offensively than Gobert, and while not as much as a defensive presence, he’s still good at that end. Plus we can’t really go small against Memphis because JJJ is a defensive beast who actually can hang around the perimeter.

Utah really is uniquely constructed to be particularly vulnerable to us – I wonder if they’ll finally blow it up this Summer?

Then in the WCF, losing Zu to injury was huge when he was really their last remaining big man available.

I always did think that going small for stretches would be an awesome option for the Clippers, given they had the best “big man” shooter in the league in Morris, but he gives up so much defensively and rebounding, I think ideally they don’t have to go to that. I think against the Jazz, with Rudy Gobert being such a non-threat offensively and so important to get him away from the basket defensively, it was a good option to have, but against any almost any other team in the league, not sure it is ideal to be going small for the stretches the Clips were forced to last playoffs.

Boogie had his uses, but was extremely limited in how he could be deployed (re: zero footspeed). Serge was hurt. Oturu was useless. PatPat could hit some shots but was a negative in every other aspect. So basically it was basically “Zu if he’s got it going, and ‘whelp, might as well toss Nico and MM out there’ if Zu can’t hold his own.”

Having a backup C who’s actually competent is huge – just ask the Sixers, now that Drummond is gone and replaced w/ the husk of DJ – and it’s super reassuring to have Hart waiting in the wings in case Zu’s having an off night.

P.S. Speaking of backups/depth, I wish we had a bruiser-type PF to help w/ rebounding (re: MM is basically a really tall SG at this point), but getting PG13 back and hopefully Kawhi and Norm should help w/ team rebounding. I love our surplus of wings and all, but hopefully the FO looks into getting a bit of size this Summer.

Definitely a couple of games that we might have eeked out wins if we got better production from Mook and Reggie.
Amazing how PG gets everyone back into their natural state — are we returning to balance in the Force?
Having a two headed center beast in Zu and Hart — we can only get better with 2 than just one?

When we were down 20, I thought right where we want the Jazz!
Crazy tale of two halves — the previous comments were dead on correct, Coach’s adjustments were fantastic. Besides PG, keeping Hart in the 4th — really added a different look that Utah couldn’t stop.
Glad to see Luke make that three and assist from PG — more great results to come from that pairing.

What a treat. Assuming these guys get out of the play in(no guarantees there), this team will give one of the top 2 seeds all they can handle and then some.

Was Reggie ever fined?) & even the Nuggets game they were in the mix until Denver opened up a can in the last half of the 4th. But those other two were very disHartenstein. Proud of the team for staying competitive for 2 & 3.5 games against insurmountable odds. Obviously one would like to have seen Morris play much better in that stretch. Hopefully he has a resurgence (I expect him to at some point) but even if he does I don’t realistically think his contract is moveable until his expiring year unless we attach an asset. I was very much ready to move on from him before the trade deadline. If memory serves he was putting up big numbers consistently around that time & that’s exactly when we should have moved on. I think every front office in the league knows he’s just a big & tall, streaky, slow footed shooting guard at this point. Here’s to hoping he somehow dips those legs in the agua de la fuente de la juventud but 16.3 million next year, 17 after that. Let’s hope this front office is more savvy about getting off of that contract than they were when they acquired him in the first place. Rude of me I’ll admit as he sacrificed his body playing small ball for this team/ shot lights out last year/ won us games this year which has resulted in us still dreaming of the playoffs this late in the game…but he is no one’s ideal third star and he is paid thusly. That and he/we/me are not getting any younger.
