I do know that the NBA investigating doesn’t mean much–it’s just a multi-billion-dollar entity being aware of a potential liability and trying to get ahead of it. It’s routine when there are any allegations of wrongdoing against a team that the NBA looks into it, like a political candidate’s staff running opposition research on their own candidate so they know what potential trouble they could be dealing with.

And I do agree, it seems funny to me that if the Clippers were going to cheat and tamper that Steve Ballmer of all people would get caught over not writing the check that was promised. Again, I have no idea what’s true/untrue here but it feels hard to believe that Ballmer, who just paid $400M to buy the Forum so he could build a separate $2B arena down the street from it, opened himself up to liability because he wouldn’t write a $2.5M check.

I’m def looking forward to how they’re playing come late Jan & early Feb
