Yeeeeaaaaaaah, but it definitely sounded more like you did start that “debate” by cheap shotting one the key reasons why we win games. Harden’s gotta be much more efficient shooting and not just shot chucking to get going. And just something abt his lackadaisical vive that just seems to infect the team at always the wrong time.

That ain’t the statement you made or I reacted to. Of course I’d like him to make the layups. But it’s obvious we need high-quality defense to a higher degree. He brings it, on all levels. Harden needs to step it up. Can’t have anyone screw with the team defense vs a team like Dallas

Sorry to say but Russ without making layups or 3s far, far outplayed Harden and this series is won on defense. What we need much, much more than Russ making layups is the good version of Harden, reduced minutes for him if he isn’t at that level and Cleveland/Phoenix defense

Kawhi is officially out for tomorrow’s game vs Houston. Think his game 1 status will be a mystery until it isn’t. If we’re talking about inflammation but an MRI shows nothing (which is what the reports to date say), then I think the 3 weeks off + treatment should have him ready to play. His issue will be the lack of reps and potentially some fitness concerns (though I think it would be more about stamina rather than the ability to get to game speed). However, I don’t think it’s the worst thing in the world if Kawhi has reduced, but effective and timely minutes in the first few games of the Round 1 series and then ramps up by games 3-6.

The timing of this play in break is like a week of camp. They already had Mouse for this archetype so they could have just converted his contract if they didn't have bigger plans for Kai. I will love seeing Zu be able to do all the structured paint work with Kai flying around getting extra boards and put backs. He can also play small ball center or compliment PJ if we want to use him at the 5. I REALLY like this move. Kudos to the FO.
