I swear he’s trying to play himself into being traded off this team. Playing in the b2b was the clearest sign of him trying to prove he’s not washed and can still go at a high level. If he can maintain this level of play—even in losses— there will be someone willing to roll the dice on him. Fingers crossed.

If the ship is going down, make sure he’s on it and let him suffer. These losses will be on his record. You can still trade away your big name players. Leave Ty with nothing and humble him. He has to realize veterans aren’t always the way out.

I’m not sure Lue lasts this road trip. The end of the line might be near. He’s telling folks he has no more answers to this situation.

Clippers go to a small ball lineup w/Kobe Brown. Miami abuses him and builds a 10 pt lead. Lue brings in Jordan Miller, Zu and Kawhi. Miller does a lot of good stuff on the floor, including a nice 2 man game sequence with Zu on a few possessions, and then Kawhi gets into terminator mode, looking the best that he has all season. LAC wipes out the deficit and gets a 1 pt lead. Then, a timeout, followed by new substitutions and then Kawhi and Zu don’t touch the ball for the next 5 possessions. Bad shots taken + 1 TO and missed by Harden, Dunn, CP3 and LAC is suddenly down 8. Then Miami hits a bunch of 3s, LAC can’t seem to get back and get people of their spots, and the game is a 20 pt blow out.

Harden looks disinterested since Kawhi got back. Kawhi put together a heck of an audition tape in that Q2. Would be ideal to shop Kawhi now while he looks good and is playing.

Also if we don’t sell off any pieces, Ty will likely refuse to play the young guys again, as he’ll be coaching for his job in the immediate term. We absolutely 1000% shouldn’t be buyers (unless we get an NBA-mandated Luka type trade), but we really need to sell off some of our older players who are on short term deals anyways.

But that means we have nothing left to lose.

I think we should let the current team run its course, no drastic movements.

As the Beatles said, let it be…

Kawhi doesn’t look half bad, Harden is Harden. Let’s try to scrape some wins, let some of the youngsters play, welcome back some of the injured.

Let’s manage the play-in and let others worry about us.

In order to achieve anything this year you have to go trough OKC or Denver. If we have to face those two, I’d rather face them in the first round than the WCF.

Kamikaze Clippers, that’s what I want to see. We are bound to develop some chemistry eventually.

PS: I strongly advocated giving up a 1st for Avdja before Portland snatched him. Too late now! I don’t see a current trade that would save or change anything. When Bogi/Miller are back we should have more options at shooting guard. And DJJ has been missed. We’ll find a way. If Ty Lue leaves, even better.
