Coach Lue likes to experiment. He has new players KPJ, Dunn, etc. He is going to try different things with the addition of KL.

We all know what kind of player T. Mann is. Clippers FO is not going to trade T. Mann.

Adam A. said that he doesn’t think KPJ is the odd man out. KPJ for all of his warts, is a necessary piece to keep us afloat during the scoring doldrums until KL is back at full speed.

How many times that we shook our heads at PG and Russ make turnovers?

In the big picture, we’re a lot better than any point in the 213 era. Have to make this work out.

Hope that DJJ isn’t hampered with that left hand/elbow jam.

It’s jarring when you think about how much more money Mann is making. The F.O. invested in him. The coaching staff hasn’t put him in a position to succeed. I don’t think that situation is sustainable for team chemistry.

LaVine playing his A game is a better, more effective player than Norm. I think a Mann/Norm for LaVine trade is justifiable. If this team is to part with Mann, that’s the type of swing big trade I’m looking for.

I love Norm but I feel that Lavines ball handling & passing could really help Harden. He’s not as efficient as Norm is at scoring but he’s still really solid there. The question for me becomes, can Lavine defend & rebound better than Norm.

It is KPJ and Amir that are blocking Mann. Don’t make Dunn the scapegoat here. While I understand why Ty favors Amir over Mann, I don’t see why he favors KPJ over him. I was willing to give KPJ the benefit of the doubt but after 35 games, he is what is he is. An inefficient scorer that can rebound & play good defense at times but makes more WTF turnovers than PG13. Mann should be playing over that guy but for whatever reason Ty rather roll with KPJ. This is a problem that the FO must solve. There is a log jam at guard & this team needs a legit backup center (Bamba is terrible) and a better ball handler than KPJ to run the 2nd unit.

However If Ty is going to keep Mann on the bench than we mite as well trade him for a need.

I think we could probably get Robert Williams from Portland for PJ as a straight salary dump. RW has another year on his deal & is racking up DNP’s for Portland.

As for clearing the guard glut, sending out KPJ, T Mann & Bones for Sexton would be a nice move. However, to get a deal like that done, it would take a 3rd team that really wants T Mann & is willing to give up FRP for him. Perhaps Memphis could facilitate such a trade.

In any event, with KL back now, Ty’s rotations/tinkering has made me nervous & the FO needs to intervene quickly before it is too late.

Either the F.O. trades other players to force Ty to play T-Mann, or T-Mann gets traded. If T-Mann is getting traded, the swing should be for the fences. Go get a Jimmy Butler or Zach LaVine, not a role playing backup center.

That being said, it’s a bit strange how much leeway he’s been given by Ty (especially over Mann), considering Ty and the FO repeatedly say they want “two-way guys who you can’t play off the floor.” When Dunn is shooting like this he’s basically the definition of a one-way player other teams don’t have to guard. I realize Mann hasn’t been great this season, but he had a small sample size before getting hurt and has a proven track record w/ us. Hell, I credit him almost as much as Kawhi and George for our lone conference finals run – we don’t make it there w/o Mann going nuclear against Utah. Mann should have a really long leash…the kind of leash Ty has given to KPJ and Dunn so far this season.

If we really are trading Mann we sure as hell better be getting a good player back in return and not just a replacement level/adequate PF/C. I don’t want to give up Mann for like Precious Achiuwa.

The F.O. will probably do a trade just so that they don’t have to spend their time scratching their heads regarding the Tinkering Ty lineups.

Word on the street is the LAC scouts have been attending Toronto Raptors games. My guess is they want Olynyk. There are many trades that work as Olynyk is at 12.5M for 2 years. If Toronto wants to shed salary, we could give them PJ Tucker’s expiring + another player like a Mo Bamba. A more costly deal would be to include a Kris Dunn, Amir Coffey or Terance Mann in the package (a bit like giving up Reggie Jackson for Plumlee, which really didn’t work). That said, my guess is the F.O. is going to want to break up the logjam at the guard position. Based on performance this year, Mann would be the player to trade, but I just don’t believe that Dunn or Coffey are better or more versatile than him. I don’t think either is built for the playoffs like Mann.

If I were the F.O., I’d sell high on Dunn and make my point to the coaching staff that ‘we invested in Mann in order to play him…so f’ing play him!’.

Olynyk in the middle on the 2nd unit and in staggered units with first unit players provides size that will make up for any reduction in perimeter defense efficiency with Dunn out.

I also think there is value in keeping your homegrown talent. Mann and Coffey are Clippers. The fans care about them. Keeping them helps the brand. They’re both good players who contribute.

Basically the reporter answered his own questions. The reporter said something like “it was an intentional decision not to play mann” and “u talked to him about it before the game” and Lue just kind of nodded yes to all of that. So very strange and no follow up? Thinking perhaps they are showcasing bamba to trade him or perhaps Mann missed a meeting or something?
