I’ve been watching Kawhi ever since he came into the league as a raw 3 and D prospect (long time Spurs/Duncan fan here). Every year I was amazed at how much better he got compared to the year before.

By 2016 he was clearly the best player in the NBA (IMHO). It’s a shame that he lost so many opportunities to show it with his injury history. But his utter destruction of the Warriors at their peak (2017) before being leveled by Zaza was something to behold. He was clearly the best player on the court, which also featured Curry and Durant).

I’m not sure I would put him as high as #3 all time – there have been a lot of great players over the years (Chamberlain, Magic, Bird, Shaq…). But he is up there.

If he is healthy (and the rest of the team is healthy) I believe that the Clips will win the title this year. And pretty much everyone is going to have to recognize that Kawhi is the best player in the game.

Having Kawhi back is just so critical – there are times when our offense gets bogged down and stagnant, so it’s super reassuring when you have a guy who you know you can toss the ball to and he’ll either calmly make the shot or get it to someone open.

I’ve been here a while already, but I will continue standing on the John Collins soap box until the trade deadline. I will be pissed if he gets traded somewhere else for a package we could’ve matched just because the FO overvalues MM’s “locker room presence” or something.

Two things. I obviously always knew Kawhi was great but in the back of my mind I always thought “one of the greatest two way players ever.” Now it’s clearly evident that when healthy he’s knocking on the door of top ten players ever. I just always wondered if his two finals MVPs were Chauncey Billups and Iguadala Finals MVPs but dude is just sick at every aspect of the game. Kobe’s body of work is much better but pound for pound and blow for blow I think I would rate Kawhi #3 behind Jordan and LeBron.

I don’t know what we can do to land him but with Luke fitting in so well with the starting unit Mook does look expendable now. Maybe a three team deal where we move him to a contender while shipping a few of our good kids (not Terence) out too. He looked good enough tonight to consider using a 1st to get him. I can’t even imagine how terrifying we would be on both sides with that move.

PG and Kawhi were elite, 55/15/10 combined. Reggie provided the working margin with a one man big government bailout and the Clips essentially maintained that margin except for that weird turnover sequence in the 3 min mark and some hairy inbounding sequences after the Batum dagger 3. Kennard also showed a lot of promise in that Q3 stretch. There’s no reason that he can’t make 5 3s a game in that lineup.

This is one of the toughest games on the road trip. ATL is a good team. This is a quality win on the road.

Rebounding remains a big issue. Clips out rebounded by 10 tonight and gave up 15 offensive rebounds. That’s the only reason this game was a 1-3 possession game in the last 3 minutes. We really should’ve won this by 20 with how well we executed at both ends. No Morris or Covington made us a little thin, but I think it’s very clear that this has been an issue for a while and it’s what the Clippers F.O. has to address at the trading deadline.

If we play like these last four games and keep improving, and KL and PG are healthy, I do like our chances in any 7-game series.

Terance and Reggie are solid at point guard.
Tomorrow at CLE, KL will rest, but we need to play Coffey and the young guys, esp. if Reggie and Mook are still banged up and if no Roco.

Agreed too many turnovers by Norm, and if he doesn’t have it, Coach needs to turn to Luke or another player to keep the flow.
Luke has to be aggressive. None of this passive crap, but aggressive, you’re a 40% 3-pt shooter, damnit!

As long as Ty doesn’t revert to force feeding Wall minutes again we don’t need a backup PG. Like sure, if Indiana is willing to give us TJ McConnell for Wall, or some other option opens up for cheap then the Clips should take it, but otherwise I’m still convinced the priority should be a backup 5 and an upgrade at the 4. That John Collins fella looked pretty good tonight…
