I was fine with blowing it up last summer and hoped for the best this season after the Harden trade. But as many feared we are fizzling like old men down the stretch. The only saving grace (so far) is that Kawhi appears still in his prime and we can likely move some of our assets around to field a team that’s more fun than this one next year.

Ultimately, there will be no getting past Joker and now Wemby and Chet either without a massive upgrade in the front court. This was probably the last dance for 213.

We’ve all had our hearts broken by this team, but we keep coming back. (Didn’t someone make a great comment about our team is a cheating lover?).

Some truths:

–If we play like we did in the Grammy’s trip, the sky is the limit.

–If we play like we did in our bad losses after the Grammy’s trip, our season ends in the 1st round.

Good teams play good basketball most of the time. There is familiarity with the system, and everyone knows their role and does the best they can. Look at successful teams like the Warriors, Denver and the Heat.

I have my doubts as to whether we can capture the fire during the Grammy’s.

But, I hope and pray that each member of the team does what he can to improve the team.

We know we can do it, but executing great team play on every possession during an 82 game season — not so easy.
