Lakers at Pels was a great watch. Statement game for the Pels after the shellacking they took in the IST. Had quite some bad passes early but CJ punished the lack of perimeter defense. Jones was automatic on the right corner 3 for a stretch (and man, is he fun to watch on defense). Larry Nance jr impacting AD’s offense. Zion collapsing the defense and drawing a lot of fouls. JV with good work. Ingram was out for blood, taking every open 3 down the stretch, no matter how early in the shot clock, when they were up big.

But the player of the game was Alvarado: they tried to have Jaxson Hayes post him up, Alvarado stripped him. Then wrung the ball right out of LeBron’s hands twice. Stole a pass, disrupted Max Christie on the fast break. Stole the ball from AD and then stripped LeBron again while he was on the fast break as well (Ingram got a 3 on the other end in transition).

We’re in for a tough game that’s extremely important for the standings. Miami first, not easier

They’re fronting as if Butler is out tomorrow. If I’m us I’m probably giving Kawhi the night off to see how he responds after full practice. If all goes according to plan it will be the Suns big 3 vs our big 3.5 Wednesday. I want to see this so badly hope it happens.

Am wondering similar re Terence. Probably could have put him in the deal and kept a pick. And if we still had Nico we’d be set. But Terence is pretty special on ball and we should be able to find some facsimile of Nico via trade and/or if we can get below the apron to sign a buyout guy. This new rule is inconvenient for us this year but I think overall it’s a good change for the league.

Olynyk was magnificent tonight. Might not be out of reach.
